"He Took Our Money, Hired a Sub, and Left Us With a Wreck"
If I could give this company zero stars, I absolutely would. My husband and I hired Shawn J. Carter, who operates under multiple business names like All American Fence (Pensacola, FL) and Whatafence (Cape Coral, FL), to install a 6ft privacy fence around our property. We paid $8,648.75 in total, including $4,249.99 in cash and $4,250.01 by card (with a $148.75 service fee). What we got in return was a complete disaster.
Instead of doing the work himself or using an in-house crew, Shawn hired a subcontractor without ever telling us. The fence was poorly constructed and has been falling apart ever since. Every day we find new issues: loose boards, leaning sections, unstable posts, and overall shoddy workmanship that no reputable contractor would accept.
When we confronted Shawn, he was rude and dismissive, accusing us of just wanting something for free and telling us to take him to court. What kind of professional treats paying customers like this? To this day, he has made no effort to make things right.
Let me be clear: I will not stop speaking out until we receive a full refund. The entire fence needs to be torn down and rebuilt from scratch because Shawn J. Carter chose to be dishonest and misleading. Please check the attached photos—this is just a glimpse of the mess we were left with.
Before hiring this company, do your research. Check verified review platforms he can't manipulate, like the Better Business Bureau or your local consumer protection site. Don’t be fooled by a slick sales pitch or filtered reviews—do your homework.
