Loyal Customer Left Hanging After $17K Investment
As a long-time paying customer, I never expected to be treated this way.
I paid over $10K for a Nicolock patio from Peppers. Just 2 years after install, I paid $2,700 for a professional cleaning, which revealed the stones were defective and the pattern had faded. I was told Nicolock would likely provide free material to replace the patio and offer extra pavers for a new front walkway to help offset the labor costs, since labor isn’t covered in defect replacements.
That reassurance made me feel more comfortable moving forward, and it ultimately led me to pay another $4,700 to replace the patio. But looking back, it feels like I was deceived. By presenting the possibility of a new walkway, I believe the goal was to get me to approve the replacement and invest more money. And once the patio was replaced and paid for, I was completely ignored, no responses to texts, calls, or emails.
I’ve now spent over $17,000 on what should have been a one-time project. The lack of follow-through and total silence makes it feel like the promise of a walkway was never real, just a tactic to close another sale.
This has been one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had with any contractor. Unreliable, unprofessional, and untrustworthy. Stay away. Avoid the headache and disappointment.
