Case Manager a nightmare, site is basic, no real specifics
I've just started with FCC but ready to move to another health mgmt group. Everything has to be coordinated with a case manager and unfortunately, mine is prickly and everything I'm told has to go thru them is referred back to cust svc. I had to call the main number to find out who my CM was. I called and was told they were busy and they'd call back - they didn't. Then the CM shows up unannounced 1.5 weeks later, has no clue what my illnesses are or what needs I might possibly have, so I have to question how they can order or recommend services if they lack even basic health education? The CM was extremely rude to my caregiver, refused to enter the home due to us having dogs which she stated repeatedly "are disgusting", wanted me to prove my ailments but then tried to refuse the doctor's documentation, and nearly anything I requested via the handbook she stated "we don't offer that" or she can't give me that - I will get meals, diapers, and eventually a caregiver ONLY without knowledge of when anything will actually happen, despite knowing I have a limited life expectancy. A relative was approved with another plan 6 weeks after me and after 5 days, she has everything and more already in place! And her CM calls often with lots of info, is very kind and educated. I've called FCC Cust Svc and though it involved lots of phone transfers and over an hour online for a simple request, they were at least professional. The website talks a lot about what is offered in general but no place to find specifics or ability to send a written message, only a number to call Cust Svc or the dreaded case manager. I'm not impressed so far.
