phishing for fees is the name of prairie ridge health's game
I just made an appointment at another clinic after more than 1 bad experience at prairie ridge health in beaver dam wi.
I saw an np about an embarrising condition. during the visit, 1 of the things said to me was about exercising 10 minutes an hour. that's more than the experts recommend people do to stay in some kind of shape. I decided to give the benefit of doubt about that remark, since I didn't know this person well.
after that visit when I saw the after visit summary I was somewhat shocked at the way this condition was described - as if any other provider would need a road map. I planned on asking if this description could be altered.
I also asked that my record not be shared or released without my express written permission & the person I talked to claimed not to know about the form I needed to fill out. I believe the form is called HIPPA. the clerk claimed she would look into this & get back to me. I never heard from her about it.
I was told that the condition was likely due to uncontrolled blood sugar & it was recommended I see a diabetes educator. I was given an rx to treat the condition, which did nothing more than make me sick.
I wanted to talk to the np & say what had happened or not & ask a couple of questions & asked to have a televisit to do that since my insurance covers it.
the np flat out refused to do a televisit & said I had to be seen in-clinic.
at the initial visit I left a form for the dot which was not only filled out, but instead of mailing back to me it was mailed to the dot & a copy was sent to me with a cover letter.
they can barely answer the phone, yet they had time to do that but can't take a 5 minute televisit with me?
I believe the np's only concern was how many fees she hoped she could generate if I would take her up on all her suggestions of what I should do.
well, this refusal to do a quick televisit with me today was the last straw. maybe she can find someone else to make fun of & crack jokes at & maybe she can find someone who will visit every other provider she can conjure up.
it just won't be me.
