Rip-off!
Six months ago I took a rimless frame to have new lenses put in. The person who served me assured me that my frame was perfectly suitable for the lenses they would sell me. She did NOT tell me that there would be no applicable warranty, because they hadn't sold me the frame. I was charged over $400 "lab fee" in addition to over $400 for the lenses - and was told that that outrageous price included a discount.
The Christmas season must have influenced my judgement, because I went for it.
A week or so ago while washing the lenses under warm running water, the frame fell apart. Now these were 'back-up frames, which I rarely used, preferring others, which I had briefly misplaced. So they were worn little in the interim. I took the glasses back to XO-Optic and was told that they were not covered by warranty: in effect "too bad so sad.." But I was told that I'd get a very good discount if I were to purchase new frames from them.
Well I'm a bit too old to be conned twice. As the old saying goes "Fool me once - shame on you! Fool me twice - shame on me!"
These people cannot be trusted. If they will not guarantee a $400 lab fee what is any warranty worth? Oh - and by the way - the lenses, which I had mentioned were worn infrequently were scratched unlike those I wear every day.
Stay away from this shop is my advice! Chris. S
