If I could give them 0 stars I would
If I could give them 0 stars I would. There is a reason why the Better Business Bureau grades them an F. My pool had a major leak (leaking over an inch of water a day). I hired Dolphin Pool Services to come out and find the leak with their leak detection service (for $901.25). They sent a team out and told me my 4 year old pool needed a full renovation (which costs about $35k). Otherwise, they could try to patch it for $301 but they couldn’t say if it would last a day, a week, a year or not work at all. I thought it was crazy for a new pool to need a full renovation and reached out to my pool builder. He was extremely busy but said he would come out in a few weeks when he could squeeze me in. He came out and patched a skimmer which resolved the issue. So Dolphin Pools tried to sell me an extremely expensive repair when all that was needed was a quick and inexpensive skimmer fix (my pool builder didn’t even charge me). Additionally, they never marked the skimmer as having a leak, but they did mark about 25 other locations that leaked (which obviously didn’t leak because they haven’t been touched and my pool doesn’t leak any more. It seems like they just tried to rip me off.
Before the leak detection scam, I was in talks with them to take over my weekly pool’s weekly maintenance service. While doing the leak test, they tested my pool water and said it was extremely off even though my pool maintenance company was just there a week prior. I immediately had my pool company come out to test it and they said it was fine, but that I should take it to a third party so I know for sure. I took a pool sample to Leslie Pools in North Bethesda and they confirmed my pool water was fine. So Dolphin Pools lied about my water chemistry in an effort to get me to leave my current pool maintenance company and to go to them (by making my current company look like they are doing a poor job).
Between the lies in the leak detection and the water chemistry, I contact Dolphin asking for a refund. They declined and so I disputed it on my credit card. Now they are having lawyers send me demand payment letters and they want me to pay for their lawyers time as well. They are scammers who gave me the wrong information about everything so I would spend money with them.
