On 3 June 2025, two persons from Done Right Electrical, Sydney attended my house to fix a light with 4 bulbs that flickered half the time but particularly when using the dimmer switch.
They quoted $275 to identify the issue, and told me I required: 4 dimmable globes, a new dimmer switch as my existing one was not compatible with LED lights, and a new switch at the mainboard to make their work compliant - quote was $808. They voluntarily also quoted $3,000 to replace all the old switches on the main board. I did not go ahead with any work and paid them just over $300 for their attendance and identification of the issues. My husband then went to Bunnings and bought 4 LED dimmable globes for a total of $60 which have fixed the issue. Our existing dimmer switch works well and we can turn the lights down low without any flickering.
