Beware of Machineseeker - unethical billing practice
This is an extremely unethical company. With misleading billing practices. They are currently demanding 800 EUR from our company, for 1 machine, for 1 month's advertising, without even asking for credit card details. Beside these, what we have informed them that our colleague who advertised the machine has no signature and no contractual rights in our company. Here is a short history of us with machineseeker:
2024.07 - a colleague registered on the site and posted a printing machine for sale. The site's ambiguous communication led him to believe that he was on a free trial period for the time being , and as the site did not even ask for any payment or credit card details, our colleague was right to believe that he was still on the free period.
08.2024 - at this time we received a payment notice from the company that our company has to pay. Our colleague quickly replied that he didn't understand what this was about, writing that he thought it was very misleading because he would not have used a pay service and as he had not been asked for his card details, he was justified in not thinking that he would have to pay. Our colleague asked for the service to be cancelled because we were only going to sell one machine, which we failed to do in a month, and we do not want to pay for it any more. Machniseeker's response was that they did not care, it was none of their business, we should pay the bill, and they wrote that they would continue to bill us for the remaining 12 months, which we could not stop!
After that they suspended our account. Despite of suspending, the bills have continued to arrive since then. After that our colleague has again written down and asked that no billing take place, we do not require the service. The machineseeker reply was that it was useless to write it again, "We will therefore not comment further on your request" (!).
In the meantime, they added 54 EUR to all our bills as transaction costs, for which we did not pay. So now they want to charge us about 800 EUR, and after only 1 month of registration, our colleague indicated that he had misunderstood the site's communication and that we were not requesting any service from them.
800 EUR, 1 machine, for 1 month for an advertisement that they know is based on a misunderstanding.
The most outrageous thing is that they know exactly what they are doing is misleading, so they are doing it deliberately. You can see about 40 complaints of the same nature about them from recent years on various review sites. They have several pages on trustpilot, I suggest you check the other Machineseeker.com trustpilot page. The company rating is e 2,2 (!).
For the above mentioned scam business practice, 30 reviews of 1 in the last 2 years! Countless people harmed. How can they allow this?
