Midway great experience, Henderson not.
I have been to the Midway campus a few times with a friend and felt refreshed and uplifted each time.
Now my 15 yo daughter was invited to an event with a friend at the Henderson location. There was heavy traffic getting into the church parking lot and a woman in the car in front of us with the Compassion Christian Church bumper sticker would not let another person in and that was disappointing to watch. Then when we finally get to the parking lot, the men managing the parking lot were disorganized. The hold up and heavy traffic seemed to be from people rolling down their window and asking the parking lot attendants questions, when there were signs posted everywhere. The signs were misleading though and everyone seemed to be frustrated. So I finally rolled my window down and asked how I can stay in the parking lot till the event was over because I didn’t want to wait in that line again. I was directed to turn left. I get to the left hand turning lane and the parking lot attendant told me I could not turn left, I had to turn right. I told him I was told to turn left by the other parking lot attendant, and he could have stopped the traffic to allow me in, but instead he said I’m deaf and can’t hear you and he made me turn right. My point is, where is the “compassion?” Between the woman who wouldn’t let another car in, and the rude parking lot attendant, I am disappointed. And sadly my daughter saw it all. I know we all have human tendencies and fall but true followers of Christ should be walking humbly bearing better fruit than what we saw before we even walked through the doors at the Henderson campus.
