Would you please tell your officers who Patrol the beach and handicap people are allowed to park on the east side of the highway. Only in times of congestion are we required to park north of Crawford entrance or south of 3rd Street entrance. I am a handicap military veteran and was told today that I had to move north of Crawford. I was parked on the east side of the highway just adjacent to Esther Park and there were approximately 15 vehicles parked up against the conservation posts, That is in no way congested.
Beach i.. volusia.org allowed only when conditions permit
Vehicles must display clearly a DMV issued handicap placard.
Due to extreme congestion east side parking is not to be permitted in these areas:
=from the Silver Beach approach to the University Beach approach in Daytona Beach =from Crawford Avenue
approach to the Third Avenue approach in New Smyrna Beach.
"Handicap Parking Only" spaces are provided at all
