Serious Negligence & Lack of Accountability
Serious Negligence & Lack of Accountability – A Warning for Future Patients
I deeply regret undergoing surgery at Worldwide Dental & Plastic Surgery Hospital, as I have experienced serious medical negligence, inadequate post-surgical care, and an ongoing refusal from the clinic to take accountability. I am now escalating this matter to external authorities. No patient should have to go through what I have endured.
Pre-Surgery Negligence
From the very beginning, there was a concerning lack of pre-surgical consultation and planning:
I was given no pre- or post-surgery information about pre surgery procedure, risks, healing time, or post-surgery care.
No proper pre-surgical markings were made while I was upright—a critical step in blepharoplasty. This has led to worsened sagging, asymmetry, unnatural creases, and lumps.
There was no discussion about how much skin would be removed or any opportunity to review markings before the surgery.
Surgical Negligence & Severe Pain
My surgery began at 7:00 PM (far later than planned) and lasted until 1:00 AM, an unusually long and exhausting timeframe.
Despite my repeated complaints of pain early in the procedure, my requests for anesthesia via IV (cannula) were ignored. Instead, the surgeon continued to top up local injections, which I repeatedly told him were insufficient.
I felt intense pain and burning around my right eye during the surgery and even told the surgeon that I believed he had cut a nerve. This area remains numb to this day, with random shooting nerve pains. This eye is now asymmetrical with worse sagging than the other.
The hospital has outright lied in their sole response to my complaints by falsely stating, "A general anesthesia doctor and nurse were monitoring the sedation to ensure your safety throughout the procedure." This is completely untrue. There were only two people in the room during my surgery—the surgeon and a nurse assisting him. At no point did an anesthesiologist enter the room to assess my pain management, despite my repeated, tearful pleas for proper anesthesia.
Post-Surgical Negligence & Botched Aftercare
The clinic removed my stitches just 3.5 days post-surgery while my eyes were still incredibly swollen, despite their own paperwork stating they should be removed between 5-7 days.
They left stitches still embedded in my skin, causing delayed healing, additional swelling, and further complications.
Due to their mistake, I had to visit a different hospital over a month later, where a doctor had to dig out the leftover stitches, prolonging my healing and increasing my distress further.
No proper follow-up care was provided. My concerns about pain, nerve damage, and worsening results were repeatedly dismissed.
Clinic’s Continued Refusal to Take Responsibility
In his very first Zalo message, the surgeon acknowledged my experience, apologized, and offered a refund. However since this initial apology, his only concern has been monitoring aesthetic progress. He has refused to engage in any discussion regarding the pain, nerve damage, medical negligence or the hospital’s lack of response.
I replied that I would respond via email and requested the direct email of the hospital’s patient complaints department, also informing him that I had received no response from the hospital.
When I asked about how to formally escalate my complaint, the surgeon repeatedly told me he did not know who handles complaints and did not know an email address I could use.
Later, he stated that he could not do anything because he is merely an employee of the hospital.
The clinic has only responded to me once in an unacceptable email that failed to address the seriousness of my concerns. Apart from this single inadequate response, I have received no further communication from the hospital at all.
My only ongoing communication has been with the surgeon, via casual messages on Zalo for the sole purpose of requesting photos and videos of aesthetic results, which seems completely inappropriate given that I have sent countless formal complaints through email about medical negligence.
Meanwhile, the hospital itself has completely ignored my concerns and has made no effort to engage in discussion or resolution.
The hospital itself has made no effort to communicate with me beyond one single, unacceptable email response, despite my multiple formal complaints.
In their one response, the hospital began by saying “We sincerely apologize for the distress, as well as the physical and emotional pain, that you have experienced” …. “I want to assure you that your concerns are being taken very seriously. I am personally committed to understanding what went wrong in your case and ensuring that we take appropriate action to address both the specific issues you have raised, as well as any broader systemic concerns within our hospital.”
But they went on to contradict themselves and deny responsibility. They made misleading statements, particularly about the surgeon's role and the hospital’s involvement. And also outright lied in black-and-white about the anesthesiologist being present to monitor my pain throughout. Their response was designed to obscure accountability.
This is NOT About Aesthetics – This is About Medical Negligence
Even if the aesthetic outcome was perfect (which it absolutely is not, but I’m hoping it will improve further with time), that would never justify the negligence, pain, and suffering I have endured. No amount of beauty is worth the physical and emotional distress caused by a lack of proper anesthesia, nerve damage, and inadequate post-surgical care.
Why Am I Writing This Review?
If you check my other reviews, you’ll see that I rarely leave negative feedback. I am not the type of person who complains easily. However, the severity of this situation demands that I warn others.
I gave Worldwide Dental & Plastic Surgery Hospital ample opportunity to address this issue professionally and ethically. They have refused. I am now escalating this to external authorities to hold them accountable.
One of the reasonable steps I requested was a clear outline of the measures they would implement to ensure that no future patient endures the trauma of insufficient anesthesia during surgery. Shockingly, they have even refused to provide this—further demonstrating their unwillingness to take responsibility or improve patient safety.
If you are considering surgery here, please research thoroughly and proceed with extreme caution. I am willing to provide further details, including all my communications with the clinic and the surgeon, privately to anyone who wishes to know more.
