Hefty charges by Chinese instructions
I imported recent shipment from Chinese manufacturer. I paid to manufacturer for CFR terms in these terms specified in the invoices. On arrival of shipment to Durban port I received an invoice from Sea Cargo with hefty charges. The invoice number 319229 dated 16-Jan-2025.To my inquiry regarding the so high charges, I received an answer that the charges is high because of instructions of Chinese Sea Cargo agent and the shipment will not be release before the full amount will be paid. To my request to investigate the matter left without any attention. My experience with Sea Cargo company left a feeling that I been blackmail by Sea Cargo company on instruction of Chinese agent. Your one rules very Cleare - CFR - The seller is responsible for the cost and freight of transporting goods from the port of shipment to the port of destination.
