This company is unethical and predatory
Based on my experience with this business, I can only determine that they are highly unethical and unprofessional. I will NOT be doing business with them again.
I work for multiple subcontractors collecting unpaid invoices. On May 13, 2022, a pool subcontractor and I requested help from Edward Wolff & Associates to collect on an unpaid account. My client was being victimized by the general contractor who was refusing to pay for services rendered, and Steve Knight agreed to take on the account. The firm requested that my client settle for a much smaller amount, and although he was discouraged, he agreed to settle for less as he needed the funds to continue operating his business. I spoke to Mark Wolff to get clarification about when the funds would be received, and he told me if they received certified funds, my client would be issued a check within a few days.
On May 20, 2022, Edward Wolf & Associates received a wire transfer for the full amount. After two weeks went by, I called and emailed requesting the payment because the subcontractor needed the funds to begin another job and was told that payments are remitted the 25th of every month and the check hadn’t been issued for May due to the Memorial Day holiday.
On June 16th, I received a call from Steve Knight requesting a 5-star review from me, and I explained that I could not give him 5 stars because my client had not received his promised check. He said he would mail out the check that day. My client received a check on June 25th, but Edward Wolff & Associates had put a stop payment on the check immediately after issuing it. I called Steve Knight and Mark Wolff, and they were unable to tell me why the stop payment was placed and that they would reissue the check. As of today, August 8, 2022, my client still has not received the check. It has been 80 days since they received the payment, and we have had no updates. We kept our end of the agreement and they have not.
This company is unethical and has continued to victimize my client by withholding money they collected for him and promised to give to him. Given my direct experience with this business, I can only recommend businesses and individuals do not use them.
