Our daughter Emma was first diagnosed with a cancer...
Our daughter Emma was first diagnosed with a cancer that starts in the retina, the very back part of the eye called Retinoblastoma.at the age five.
Robyn was our pediatric oncology social worker at the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital in Portland, Maine referred us to Kids Cancer Connection as we needed a lot of support including temporary housing as the Ronald McDonald House 36 rooms were being used.
KCC parent volunteer Cindy and Sarah were truly there for us and helped us navigate the many challenges of childhood cancer during her treatment.
Emma lost her extremely dificult battle to this horrible disease not that long ago, but our relationship with KCC continues to this day. We hope to be able to pay it forward to other families with children affected by a diagnosis of cancer.
We truly appreciate everything the Kids Cancer Connection has done for us!
