Horrible experience
We started renting from JMS in 2020. At the beginning things were alright
The only issue in the beginning was the difficulty getting repairs done or getting pest control addressed. We had a hole in the roof that caused a bad leak upstairs and to date it has not been fully repaired and there is still a three foot water stain on the ceiling. We also had an animal infestation in the attic due to the hole that took multiple requests to resolve as well as a bee and hornet infestation. Most of the issues with repairs were due to landlords refusing to believe that the problems existed and not doing a proper evaluation of the issues. Additionally once the housing market changed so did the landlords. They began driving by the property on almost a daily basis. They would pick on things and make threats. When my partner lost his job during COVID they were not compassionate and were very degrading, basically saying it's not their fault and they still have to pay the mortgage. I was terrified to use a rental moratorium because I was worried they would try to evict us anyway and I could not manage a court battle while trying to make sure our $1500/a month rent was still being covered by our now 34k household income. At one point, on our third year in the property they threatened a lease violation warning for not taking care of the yard even though we have never been cited by the city and the day she drove by I had literally ran to the store for more weed Wacker string and the lawn equipment was still outside and half the work was completed already. Since I know my renters rights I pushed back on the lease violation and they gave in. However they refused to renew the lease and forced my family out of the home. Its very apparent that they are emotionless people that only care about money and have no compassion for others.
