It Pays to Read Labels
There's a neat ice cream product we've enjoyed for years known as Lactaid. We discovered just yesterday Hood makes Lactaid Ice cream-so says the sub-label. After a careful read of the ingredients we were somewhat shocked to see PALM OIL among the key ingredients in Lactaid Vanilla Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream. And PALM OIL also turns up in some other Hood ice cream products. Anyone with the slightest interest in good nutrition knows PALM Oil has long been considered very bad for people, animals and forests. Apparently it's in the cookie part of formulation. Moreover, partially hydrogenated oil-another junky ingredient is in some Hood ice creams. Label readers with a nominal nutritional IQ are sure to avoid such products.
