My wife has been a patient of Dr. Drew Polson for approximately 2 years. The office has been consistently slow and difficult to deal with when it comes to obtaining necessary referrals and approvals needed by insurance. It has come to a disastrous head with my wife requesting an updated referral to her rheumatologist so that she can see him to obtain the medication that MIGHT help her live a functional life.
You see, my wife has 3 - yes, 3 - unmanageable illnesses. She has idiopathic intracranial hypertension, lymphedema, and ankylosing spondylitis. She is in constant severe pain and has trouble standing and walking, and HAS to be under the continuing care of a rheumatologist. Her specialists’ office began calling in December or early January to obtain the referral. They notified Lesley that Dr. Polson’s office has not completed the referral and asked her to call; she began calling on January 15th. She has contacted Dr. Polson’s office at least 6 times, and texted them twice. She has been told repeatedly that the hold up is the provider, that they are going to ask him again to get the referral done. I am absolutely flabbergasted that any medical provider who cares at all about his patients would require multiple weeks and multiple requests from both his patient and from her specialists office and still, today, 2 days before the scheduled appointment, the referral has not been issued. Not only that, but I left multiple messages and texts myself today demanding that the doctor do his job, letting his office know that I would write and post these reviews to let prospective patients know that this office does not care about its patients, and there has been no response.
IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT USING THIS DOCTOR AND THIS PRACTICE - DON’T. Find another option. This office as a whole does not care about the patients, they only care about the number of different programs they can sign you up for so they can make even more money off of you. Dr. Polson talks a good game but I have never seen any evidence that he feels any real responsibility or urgency in his care for his patients and he is not worth the time it takes to try to make an appointment with him. Find somebody else. He does not care.
