Turned Away - no reason given
We arrived early afternoon on 09/06/26 to be greeted by an officious man who told us that Samlesbury Hall was closed to the public. No reason was given but he said that the website stated the hall was closed. We checked their website there and then but there was no indication that it was closed. He said it was mentioned on Facebook but visitors look to the website for information not Facebook. We had therefore made a wasted trip. It is clear from our encounter with the man at the entrance that the hall needs to improve its relationship with the public and properly inform potential visitors. Why was the hall closed for four days?
