Shady cutomer service

CurrentWare offers a solid endpoint monitoring and control solution, and from a functionality standpoint, it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Features like USB control, user activity monitoring, and reporting are reliable and well-designed. In a stable environment, the product performs very well and meets expectations for organizations needing visibility and control over endpoint activity.
However, there are some very significant concerns that potential customers should be aware of before committing.
⚠️ Licensing & EULA Transparency Issues
The biggest issue I encountered was with their licensing terms and cancellation policy. Specifically, the requirement to cancel at least 30 days before renewal is not made clear during the sales or onboarding process.
This detail appears to be buried in the EULA rather than clearly communicated upfront. If you miss that window—even unintentionally—you may be automatically locked into another full year of licensing. That lack of transparency feels misleading and is something organizations should take very seriously before purchasing.
Clear and upfront communication about billing policies is a basic expectation, and in this case, it falls short.
⚙️ Product Stability During Changes or Migration
While the software works well in a static environment, things start to fall apart when you attempt to move or migrate the system.
In my experience:

Moving the server or environment can introduce database-related issues
The platform is not forgiving when infrastructure changes occur
Troubleshooting becomes complex and time-consuming during migrations

If you plan to keep CurrentWare in a fixed setup, you may not run into this. But in real-world IT environments where upgrades, server changes, or migrations are common, this becomes a serious limitation.
🛠️ Support & Practical Considerations
Support is adequate for basic issues, but when it comes to more advanced scenarios like migration or database problems, resolution can be difficult. This adds risk for IT teams that need flexibility.
✅ What’s Good

Strong endpoint control features
Reliable day-to-day functionality
Good reporting and monitoring capabilities

❌ What Needs Improvement

Lack of transparency around renewal and cancellation terms
Rigid licensing model with strict cutoff requirements
Fragility when moving or reconfiguring the system
Migration and database challenges

⭐ Overall Verdict
CurrentWare is a capable product, but the business practices around licensing and the lack of flexibility during system changes are serious drawbacks.
If you choose to go with CurrentWare:

Carefully review the EULA in detail
Set reminders well in advance of renewal dates
Be prepared for potential complications if you plan to move or upgrade your environment

Bottom line: The software works—but the experience around it requires caution.
