Chose for excellent reviews and happy after meeting and walking through scope of work. Scope expanded as project progressed as there were issues with our older home. We were repairing/replacing damage from Helene(2024). This seems to be one of Runestone's larger jobs -relative to what I have seen online. Project progressed well and happy with work-excellent tile work in bathroom, new floors looked great...
This is when things started going South with them. One of the guys seems to do quality, careful work - the other, from my observation, is a "just get it done"" corner cutter. Now the details-
Document every single discussion you have with them, in writing...
Paint job- was horrible and had to be redone, I had to supply the paint, they- the labor (that is on me- I did because to this point things were as expected-first hiccup)
Broke the base of the glass shower doors- we had to point this out and Runestone acknowledged they cracked. Doors did not and do not roll smoothly and are being completely replaced (not by Runestone)
Our new refrigerator has 2 dents in bottom front door- never pointed out - we discovered later and never pointed out or acknowledged by Runestone. Ice maker and dishwasher not hooked back up.
Broke the barndoor hardware on laundry closet - never pointed out- rigged it so we may not notice- door not functioning. Hardware is being replaced, not by Runestone
Moved a couple of electrical outlets, one shorted out 1/2 the grid in the home-had to hire electrician (our expense) to troubleshoot and repair (was one of the outlets they replaced). No offer of responsibility or reimbursement.
Did not finish job - window trim. Runestone bought materials which is still laying on floor in one of the bedrooms. Called to schedule the trim after install of new windows and doors and they said they were done and owed no further work/ services.
All invoices were paid in full and on time. Deadline to finish missed even though consideration was paid to meet a date.
Caveat Emptor despite the wonderful reviews
