We had a very difficult experience with this school regarding the management of safety concerns involving our young child.
Over a period of time, we raised concerns about repeated incidents involving what we viewed as inappropriate physical interactions between another student and our child. In addition, we reported a situation involving a staff interaction that we felt was not appropriate for the age group. While some concerns were acknowledged, in our view, the measures taken were not sufficient to prevent recurrence or ensure a consistently supportive environment.
Based on our understanding at the time, there appeared to be broader concerns related to similar behaviour within the school environment. This contributed to our view that stronger and more effective measures were needed to address the situation.
As a result, our child experienced significant anxiety and distress related to attending school, which had a noticeable impact on her emotional well-being.
Ultimately, rather than reaching a resolution we felt was effective, the school chose to discontinue our child's enrollment without a transition period. This was a challenging experience for our family.
We have since sought guidance through appropriate formal channels to better understand how situations of this nature are typically handled. We encourage other parents to ask detailed questions about supervision, staff-student interaction practices, and incident handling when considering this school.
