BUYER BEWARE if you are considering using Elite Taxidermy and/or Marcell Panchuk’s services for preserving your animal in any way. I would give zero rating if that existed in this customer review app. Communication was horrible. Huge delay without any feedback or communication. Was initially told it was a 10 month wait to get my bear hide and skull; it was 18 months. After the 10 months I repeatedly reached out for a status update only have repeated request for information go unanswered. Additionally, when I spoke with him, he provided contradicting statements. First, he said the work was done but was waiting on paperwork for shipping. Then after several months and repeated requests for updates he said the paperwork was done but he needed to finish the work. His work was horrible. He ruined the bear hide. The hide I got was more like cardboard with patchy baldness, glue, and large cut to the hide (that wasn’t present at the time of skinning). Additionally, he did not return my paws or head with the hide. The skull was cleaned well but the teeth were significantly misaligned. Had to remove them and reset them on my end. He had sent images on nice work at the start of the agreement to have work done. I had expectations of similar quality work. What I got was vastly different than the images he sent of his prior work. I have attached images of the work he did on my bear. When I brought my concerns to his attention he did not respond to them. I really don’t think he attempts to see things from a customer’s perspective. My impression is that once he has your money that is all he cares about. Since getting the work back and my concerns not being addressed I dug into his reviews. On Yelp there was only one 4-star review and the rest were 1-star, on Google review they were bipolar with a mix of 1-star and 5-star reviews. Many of the 1-star complaints were similar to mine: poor work, poor communication. Had I seen these before the outfitter sent the bear to Elite Taxidermy I would have insisted on another taxidermist. The outfitter has since said he won’t use Elite Taxidermy any more. You shouldn’t either. If you are considering using Elite Taxidermy, consider this, with such bipolar reviews (either good or really bad) are you willing to take your chances of having your animal ruined? Again, BUYER BEWARE!
