I cannot recommend this school. While martial arts is supposed to teach confidence, this dojo did the exact opposite. My child was allowed to test for his first belt, only to be the single student in the entire group to be failed. If a child is not ready, an experienced instructor should never allow them to test just to fail them publicly. When I asked why he failed, I was given zero clear answers—just a "word salad" of martial arts jargon ("kata this and kata that") and an empty speech about resilience. They isolated and humiliated my son in front of his peers, completely destroying his interest in martial arts. A good youth program builds children up; this one uses "discipline" as a shield for terrible communication and a lack of empathy. Avoid this place if you care about your child's self-esteem.
