ZION MEMORIAL CEMETERY ZION MEMORIAL CEMETERY Reviews 13

Poor Management and Disrespect to Clients

I want to first begin by saying that I am not only a daughter, sister, mom and grandmother, I am a nurse of over 36 years where dignity and respect is the forefront of everything I do. My parents are buried at Zion Memorial (2004 and 2009). My Father was a World War II veteran. Their headstone has been damaged by the ground staff where a corner of the headstone is chipped off due to their use of lawn machinery. I didn't raise this to management as I didn't think they would do anything about it considering the poor condition of the other headstones. When I visit from out of town, I would have to always clear my parent's headstone from weeds and ant beds. Recently one of my brothers went out to treat the area with weed kill so that we can easily find their site with visiting. This has helped.
The worst experience I could have imagined happened last week when I had the difficult task of burying my last surviving aunt. Her pre-needs, including her plot, was payed for well in advance. When we met with the owner, Beverly, at Zion Memorial Cemetary, we were told that their system was down therefore could not tell us the location of my Aunt's plot. We needed this information in order to plan for the graveside service. Their system was down for at least 2 days. We had to travel back to Georgia, get the documents and return them to Zion Memorial only to THEN find out, they buried someone else in my Aunt's plot. HORRIFYING! They gave us another placement for our graveside service. Unfortunately, when we arrived for the graveside service, we had to wait, along with the pastor, funeral home staff in the hearse and family and friends, so that they can set up my Aunt's plot for the service. Unfortunately, the ground staff stated they were told incorrectly by their office (Zion Memorial) where to set up. This whole experience robbed us from enjoying the calm, respectful and joyous experience of celebrating my aunt's life. Again, HORRIFYING. Accountability is urgent!
