I want to raise a caution regarding the Bob Trask Group for those considering SMSF purchases. I recently tried to buy a house and land package through them, as they advertise that they support SMSF buyers.
My solicitor and SMSF auditor identified several issues with how their contracts are structured, which could make an SMSF purchase non-compliant. Despite this, the Bob Trask Group has refused to address these concerns, stating that this is their standard contract.
It’s important to be aware that if an SMSF purchase is not compliant, the ATO can impose significant fines or even suspend your SMSF. If you are considering buying through them, I strongly recommend seeking independent advice to ensure compliance.
