We had an extremely disappointing experience with Harley-Davidson MotorCity.
We drove 6 hours for a specific bike and had a scheduled appointment to test drive it. The day before our appointment, we noticed the bike was removed from the website, so we called twice to confirm it was still available. Both times we were told yes, the bike was still there.
Based on that confirmation, we drove up the night before, paid for a hotel, and brought a trailer with us.
When we arrived for our appointment, we were then told the bike had already been sold, and no one had contacted us to let us know. Instead of being upfront, staff danced around the situation and immediately tried to steer us toward other bikes, as if the situation wasn’t a big deal.
This was a huge waste of time, money, and effort, and could have been completely avoided with honest communication. If a bike sells, customers who have confirmed appointments — especially those traveling long distances — deserve to be notified.
Very frustrating experience, and not what I’d expect from a dealership of this size or reputation.
