Next time I see they are the escrow company I will walk (no, run) away!
As the buyer, it was not up to me to choose the escrow company. However, when I go to sell my home, I will not be using them.
In the beginning of the process, they were very quick to push for me to send my funds into them. Frankly, very off-putting. Really added a bit of stress to the purchasing process. They insisted that all the money for down payment and closing costs were transferred early.
When I had to get out of the purchase and wanted my funds back it was much more difficult than I expected. Phone conversations were not remembered. It took a full week to get my earnest money back. They neglected to send the $25,000. "Oh, I didn't realize you had more than the earnest money. We agreed via phone that it would all be transferred to me together. "I didn't realize it was a gift."
Called me during work, 3 times, prior to 10 am. I kept explaining that I was teaching and had students with me. I further told them that I can only do personal things online during my lunch break. Did this stop them from calling and interrupting my lessons? Nope. I told them that it might not be until after school that I can get back to them.
As if this wasn't enough of a hassle, they called my banker and asked him to call me. Then they had my realtor contact me.
I will never ever recommend them or use them. Even if I find the perfect house, if they are the chosen escrow company, I will walk (no, run) away!
