Zora's House: A Non-Profit Coworking and Community Space for Women and Gender Expansive People of Color

Zora's House is a non-profit coworking and community space that was built by and for women and gender expansive people of color. It is a place where individuals can gather, connect, and make things happen. The organization was founded in 2018 by two women who were passionate about creating a safe space for underrepresented groups to work, learn, grow, and thrive.

The name "Zora" comes from the famous African American writer Zora Neale Hurston who once said: "I have been in Sorrow's kitchen and licked out all the pots. Then I have stood on the peaky mountain wrapped in rainbows with a harp and sword in my hands." This quote embodies the spirit of Zora's House - it is a place where individuals can overcome their struggles (Sorrow's kitchen) to reach new heights (the peaky mountain wrapped in rainbows).

At Zora's House, members have access to various amenities such as high-speed internet, printing services, conference rooms, private phone booths, mailboxes with physical addresses (for those who need it), coffee/tea/water/snacks/beverages/fruits/nuts/etc., lockers/cabinets/drawers/storage spaces (for those who need it), event spaces/venues/stages/podiums/microphones/speakers/etc., workshops/seminars/training sessions/coaching programs/mentorship opportunities/networking events/etc., wellness activities/yoga/meditation/mindfulness practices/exercise classes/etc., art exhibits/showcases/galleries/performance spaces/music studios/recording booths/etc.
