Awesome place to go and learn about the people of this land!
museum was very wonderful and the audio displays were very cool. Got there about and hour before closing so the visit was very rushed. Hope to go back and take my time.
State of the art museum experience illustrating Ojibwe life and their amazing 500 year prophecy. Very nice gift shop.
Cool place and quiet. It s so little but you can learn a lot.
Truly enlightening experience, well worth the admission fee for the depth and impact of the exhibits. The only thing i would reccommend would be a couple more hands on exhibits for the smaller kids. All the staff is amazing.
A must visit. The interactive exhibits are special.
Was excited to shop for things made by people either in or related to the tribe. The men working there appeared dumbstruck when asked. We've traveled a bit... And bought baskets for ourselves and some friends that collect. Large and small beautiful baskets from Swaziland, South Africa, Belize, Guatamala etc... At a fraction of the price... And more than just the 3 small ones on a shelf each selling for over $200. Oh well. Some cultures still continue artful traditions of day to day living and survival... Wish that were the case here.
Saganing Tribe came here for a Spirit Journey, Spirit World Teachings. Guest speaker Marie & Willie Trudeau. I honestly Learned so much with these teaching. I really enjoyed this event. Thank you so much!
Loved the exhibit and facility!! Definitely one of the best museums I've been to.
Very educational easy guided museum. Loved the interaction and knowledge!
Awesome gem telling the history of our local native Americans. I really enjoyed the motion activated displays and 2 movie theaters. The prophecies that guided them are uncanny, that there were people that were red, white, yellow, and black even before any contact with Europeans. They have a great flood in their history too. For those who have posted earlier about finding the displays showing the broken treaties and illness that came with the Europeans upsetting it is the history of their people and is our story of how our interactions were, even if it makes us uncomfortable it needs to be remembered. I am shocked that I didn't know that they were not made American citizens until 1924, and unable to vote, in their Homeland and fighting in wars, even WW I. Eye opening and beautiful displays of a balanced and centered existence. Really worth the time and much more value than the admission of $6.50 would lead you to believe. For the person complaining about foreign made goods-- every souvenir shop has trinkets that are affordable for tourists and meant for kids. Also on display are artisan made jewelry and sweetgrass baskets that are some of the best I've ever seen. These are of course behind the counter and not easily accessed, and signed by the artists. There is art and real native crafts here too, you just have to look.
This place was awesome I learned a lot of things I didn't even know about
Great time with the birds. Little children should be seen and not heard. If they cannot mind their manners leave them home.
First half of the museum was great. Second half of the museum was basically bashing the USA and white people.
I really enjoyed the first animated movie, discussed how all the races are supposed to work together. Then, I get to the second half of the museum and thought oh how far they ve fallen from their creation story.
Love comin here just here the bird and water and story of creation and rey is always so welcoming and sweet..
Excellent conference space, clean, quiet. Good bathrooms, good parking. Everything accessible for those with mobility issues.
The storytelling of the history of first people was incredible. The exhibits were very well done. I wish everyone that visited the hotel and casino would learn the history behind it all.
The museum is very well done. If you are planning on taking kids I would recommend it for say, 10 years old and up.
Great place to expand your knowledge about the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe
It was the highlight of our trip to Michigan! I learned so much about my heritage. I can't wait to return with my other two children. I wish I had more money to buy some of the gorgeous jewelry they had available for purchase.
Very informative, beautiful and well-done museum. Not too big or small. Good for any age.
