This place is awesome! They are wonderful people helping poor animals. All the animals are very well cared for, and they are fixed and up to date on vaccines before going to a new home.

A little confusing on where to go exactly. The paws lead you up a path, but the office is below. However, the staff was very kind and friendly and they seem to take loving care of the animals.
Great place, great people, nothing bad to say about this place. Love what they do! Great all around!
The Yaps people are absolutely wonder! I can't say enough. We adopted our new family member, Treasure named changed to Jingles on Saturday.
They care for the precious cats and dogs that need a loving home. It is obvious they love all of these animals by the wonderful care and love they show them. It can't always be easy as it hurts the heart when some have been neglected or abused plus they all need a loving home. Thank you YAPS for doing the best possible for these furbabies.
My husband and I adopted our puppy from here. These people genuinely care about every animal in this shelter. it's not your typical shelter where the dogs are in small cages all day. they walk their dogs in their grass lawn they have. they make sure their dogs are treated if they are sick. they don't put down the animals they make every effort to keep it alive as long as possible. Tyler had a bond with all the animals.
Employees made our adoption real easy.. very friendly
The hours are wrong. This place is on there own time schedual.
Cats and coffee was amazing, my wife and I wernt looking to adopt but just wanted to hang out with the cats, they r caged free and roaming around all the cats looked very happy
This place is the best! No place will help you and your animal like this place! Hard to get in touch w/them at times. But, I'd recommend this place 150% yes! Great place!
About 6 ago weeks I adopted my little Bella Blu. They were so helpful with the process. There are areas provided where you can take the dog/puppy that you are intrested in to get to know each other. They keep all area maintained and clean. I highly recommend going there if your looking for a cat or dog companion.
Yeah I called him out to get it opossum never showed up and the possum died ever going to prosecute me
I like this place they give people dog and cat vouchers for spaying and neutering. It will come in handy, thanks Yaps! Great place and I even donated cat food to them, and they do take donations.. So far Green Valley Animal Hospital, and Humane Society in San bernardino take this voucher.
They are great with the care of the animals cleanliness of the area they are not about the money but the love and compassion for them and finding the right match for their forever homes.
A very positive community service. I appreciated the time Laurie spent with me and the advice offered on the training and relationships with a new puppy.
Took my kittens here to get Vaccinated and they treated us so well. I highly recommend this place! They also have a Low cost vaccine clinic which is amazing when you have more then one pet! It's super affordable! You just have to be on the look out for those.
This is the local animal shelter in the city I live in. When I have extra canned or dry cat food or some canned cat food my cats won't eat, I'll take it there as a donation. A few years ago, I had taken 11 large bath towels that I had bought from a thrift store to donate so they could use them when the animals were given baths. They recently participated in the "Mega Shelter Animal Adoption" event that was held at the Yucaipa Community Park last weekend. They adopted out 16 animals to their "furever" homes! Not bad for a weekend, even when it rained while they were there on Sunday! #adoptdontshop #secondchances
Way Too Expensive, I was not impressed! I'll be going to the Redlands Animal shelter instead.
I've been promising my kids we adopt dog for several months now. Each Saturday I pick a shelter to visit in hopes of finding the perfect pup with the right temperament. I have younger kids, and it's extremely important to me to see how the pup reacts and plays with my kids. Unfortunately after my kids soccer game, we drove 30 minutes in the opposite direction, up to the shelter. My kids and I were denied to see any animals! We were greeted with smiling faces. When stated our purpose of "I am looking for dog, that kids would be able to play with." I was told "Unfortunately your not allowed to see and play with the dogs. We do not allow that here." We then told we could come back in an hour and we would be allowed to walk through cat area if we like. (Sorry im allergic to cats, hence the reason I said looking for a DOG!)
I would like to personally thank the two female employees who have made my hour long car ride home miserable with two crying little girls when they realized we were leaving.
They do great work. I got all 3 of my cats microchipped for free there. They also got some vaccinations at one of their events. They give out discount vouchers for spaying & neutering your pet. I also visited their cattery right before the lockdown. It was a fun event! Bought a mug that day.
I love my dog and everyone here is super sweet and really care about their babies here.
I called them before going to that place as it was 15 mi from home. Asked for what to do as i found a dog wandering. She asked where i fund the dog and i said Beaumont. I asked if they accept if I surrender it there. She said to go to petco to have it checked for a microchip then if not, bring it there to them. I did what they say, went to petco, no chip. Drove all the way to their place then when i got there, they said they dont receive pets from Beaumont. I suggest to have a meeting and let all your colleagues aware of what you say to people. What a disappointment. They gave me another address just for Beaumont and now they are closed. What a hassle to drive all the way. If i knew that in the first place I would not drive all the way for nothing.
I love all the improvements they are doing to this place for the animals.
Got my dog there, they seem to treat the animals fairly nice, the workers and volunteers are very nice
Nice place....but the person running it is cruel to humans.....My daughter brought home what seemed to be a good fit dog.....but when she left it home alone for a couple hours it destroyed the furniture...wonder if it had a history of that? .......So she went to bring it back but found someone just in time that's always home and loved the dog.. happy ending!....My daughter later returned to find another match and there was a young dog with a great disposition and seemed perfect...She spent 2 hours with the dog there that day and returned to spend 2 more hours the next before making that "very important decision" She was in love and so was the dog....but the person running the place denied her because she "surrendered" the first one to another owner....what? In essence she did their job and placed it in a good fit home....now they have broken my daughters heart. They don't know a good owner when she/he's standing right in front of them....and THAT is a terrible (dangerous) way to run a pet shelter.
Never going back here. There are far better places elsewhere. I wasted my time and gas.
The cats look happy and comfortable and well cared for. They have people helping them that truly care for each animal!
We appreciate the service that Annette Flores and her crew offer the public. We had to relinquish our kitties. It was very difficult to sever the ties, however the ultimate sacrifice needed to be made. We know that our kitties will be taken care of and find good homes.
Thank You Annette!
They are an extremely amazing rescue! They let you meet the dogs in little yards where you can play and make sure you have a good interaction. They actually want you to bring all children and dogs that live with you to ensure a good fit! Staff was amazing and we loved the hospitality.
These people do great work and truly care about the animals. All the babies seem happy and healthy.
The service is excellent. The Vets are absolutely is knowledgeable. Yours pets will be in great hands. They note use three VistusVet app so you'll always have your pets records and info when you need it (it does take done work seeing it up, and will piss you off when you start). They no longer offer emergency care, do ask where you can go of you need it. All in all, my wife and or fur babies are happy and healthy.
Excellent place to adopt a dog or cat. The people that
work there are very friendly and will help you find the right
dog or cat. We adopted two cats and have thoroughly enjoyed them.
I love the cateries they have there. I found just the right one for me there! The staff was very nice and helpful and I am happy to have a nice cat!
Great organization for pets. They found our lost dog and held him for us until we could get him. Very nice and understanding staff.
I'm not to sure how this place stays open. We called and left a message to set up an appointment to drop off a dog and never heard back from them. We then just drove by during business hours and everything g was closed up. The fence was locked tight. Called again. No answer. Drove around d and waited in the front, no sign of life around d there and no activity. Called again left message still no answer and no call back. Avoid this place at all costs.
Very happy to have been blessed with Mason. Have wanted to have another German Shepard for 35 years. My daughter's small dog took a liking to him really quickly. We were so very lucky to have gone to Yaps on doggie adoption day.
Very cute animals, my wife really loved the kittens.
Great adoption service and saves so many animals. Beloved in this town
This place is a huge playgrounds for dogs.
There are so many animals lover works there as labor of love.
We went there once and made donation.
The staff here were really nice, they treated the animals with great care and love. We were not able to find a dog that fit our family, but I would recommend checking this place out if you are searching for a cat or a dog to adopt.
Found a great Furry friend and helpful group of people.
If find animals this is good place to take...also if for any reason can no longer take care of your animals.
There dogs cost too much for a place that wants the dogs to find a home. We found a cutie who was blind in one eye couldn't hear out of one ear and they wanted _200...
We went to full out broken hearts with a new love after our last fur baby passed away. We found Bella Rose and nervously awaited meeting her, hoping she would love us. She did! We are so blessed for her new addition to our family!
I don't usually complain but this has been my experience with Yaps. I've been looking at a small dog named Shawna for about one month or more. I live in B.C and I have requested more pictures of this dog..I was sent a few more than the one posted, but I've called several times to ask for a more updated photo, as the dog has been there for awhile now.
I know that everyone is busy at all of the shelters, so I thought that if I could just ask one the young people there to maybe use their I-phone (which all young people have) they could just shoot me a few more updated pictures or possible a short video..I was told that ,that would NOT happen as they are just too busy..
I've sent many emails and they don't answer. HER PICTURE ON THE NET IS NOT UPDATED and I just wonder why they won't even consider helping me..I just want to know things like,,has her haired gotten any longer does she shed etc..
I would think that the staff would jump through hoops to try and get this little adopted, but CLEARLY that is not their mandate..So very disappointed with Yaps
This place (YAPS) does amazing work for animals needing a good home, and best part is it's a no-kill rescue. We adopted a great cat that just needed a loving forever home. Make the world a better place and go adopt a new family member that simply needs a roof over their furry heads and unconditional love!
This is a no kill shelter. They treat other's with so much respect and made me feel comfortable
Annette Flores is a rockstar, we've shown up a few times to drop off animals we've found wandering the streets. They have a great partnership with the local high school, and usually have students who volunteer and advocate for animal adoption. Please do not drop off animals when the staff isn't present. I know this may seem like common sense, however the YAPS location is pretty close to the Crafton Hills Trails and there are local wild animal life like coyotes in the area. Love what these people do, keep up the good work!
Seemed more interested in the animals than the almighty dollar. Been to the animal shelters lately?
We ended up getting a very sweet dachshund puppy at a fair price. Everyone there was helpful and friendly and I recommend them highly.
Wow. The greatest people work or volunteer there. This was my first time and I was impressed. It was a busy, friendly, clean and well managed place. I left with a beautiful, healthy, 4 month old kitten. He was neutered and had
all of his shots for $50.00. It was definitely a pleasant experience!
So happy to be able to donate a box of dog blankets, toys, dog jackets etc.. for these pups. My sister's items went to the rescue she rescued 2 dogs from.
A bit pricey adoptions fees but the animals are very well taken care of. It was very nice seeing the cats not being locked up in chages and having access to toys! The staff is very passionate about their jobs and truly love the animals :)
I haven't been there yet. Planning to go. Anybody that protects and places animals are #1.
Wanted a dog that was disabled. Couldn't see out of one eye and had a bad leg. We wanted her but they wouldn't negotiate the cost even though the dog had been there a while. If they really care about the digs they should be Happy when someone is willing to take a disabled dog. Sad for the dog we just wanted to live her and spoil her.
As I was donating my beloved pets belongins, I took a peek into the small dog kennels, & there he was...Bobo (formerly Brody) staring at me while on his hind legs. He had the sweetest face & was the only one NOT barking at me. I waited a week & then went back & saw Bobo playing in their doggy run with his toys, Bobo spotted me & ran towards me, he stuck his nose through the fence, and it was over, I fell in love with him. Bobo choose me & I have never regretted it. He is very sweet, playful, cute & a big HAM for attention. He needed potty training, but picked that up in 1 week & he was a "jumper" over small fences (we found out the hard way). He has helped my heart heal with the passing of our 2nd Boston Terrier. We thought we couldn't love another pet for awhile, but after seeing Bobo I just fell in love & thank him every day for helping my heart open & allow myself to love another pet again. Thanks Yaps, I'm just a bit curious about their screening process regarding prospective adoptees.
Love love love the staff and volunteers! We took in a black lab our first time with them. Now we returned for a much smaller, now much more spoiled, little girl named Sugar! They always have amazing rescues, cats and dogs They are always looking for great owners to adopt, and great donors for money drops!
They are so good to the animals clean and helped me to pay vet bill cause I couldn't afford to pay it all they care
This shelter treats their animals extremely well. Please support YAPS.
Personal are very loving towards the animals there. Clean environment and well maintained.
This place is absolutely HORRIBLE and the staff are downright NASTY and RUDE!! We found a kitten we couldn't keep and called yaps to ask if they would take him; they said to come in between 2 and 3pm the next day and we were happy to find a place that would take him. When we got there and entered the office not a single staff member bothered to acknowledge us and after telling them why we were there we were then coldly told "I have no idea what is going on, you need to speak to the director." The director intentionally ignored us at first and then merely kept saying "well who did you even talk to (on the phone)?". And then proceeded to say that she was busy and would have to see if they even had room for the kitten, despite being told the previous day that it would not be an issue. The staff kept giving us nasty attitude and making snide remarks so much to the point that we left with the kitten and are glad we did not leave him there with them. We will NEVER return here to give them our business as we have in the past and we will urge all friends and family and anyone wishing to go here to do the same.
Great place to get your next family member. Staff is always busy but as friendly as can be
We got a sweet puppy. You can tell that the people that work here love animals. The puppy we got already knew how to play with toys and he was born here. He loves everybody. He's a min pin poodle. The other day my husband was on a walk with him and met his sister. He's the second puppy that we've got here. It's a real nice place. They even have a really nice play area.
The staff is very friendly and helpful...they want to make sure each dog is adopted to just the right family!
I love kelly she is
a great person! Today she taught me alot
Yucaipa Animal Placement Society (YAPS) is a non-profit animal shelter located in the Yucaipa Valley region of California. The organization was founded with the aim of preventing the euthanasia of dogs and cats in shelters throughout the region by providing them with a temporary safe haven until they can be placed in permanent, loving homes.
At YAPS, every animal is treated with love and care. The shelter provides a clean and comfortable environment for animals to live in while they wait for their forever homes. The staff at YAPS are dedicated to ensuring that each animal receives proper medical attention, nutrition, exercise, and socialization.
One of the unique features of YAPS is that it is a no-kill shelter. This means that animals are not euthanized unless they have an untreatable medical condition or pose a threat to public safety. This policy ensures that every animal has a chance at finding their forever home.
YAPS offers various programs and services to help animals find their forever homes quickly. One such program is called "Foster Friends." This program allows volunteers to take an animal into their home temporarily until it finds its permanent home. This helps reduce overcrowding at the shelter while also providing animals with more one-on-one attention.
Another program offered by YAPS is called "Seniors for Seniors." This program matches senior citizens with senior pets who need loving homes. It's a win-win situation as both seniors benefit from companionship and love.
In addition to these programs, YAPS also hosts adoption events throughout the year where potential adopters can meet available pets and learn more about responsible pet ownership.
The organization relies heavily on donations from individuals and businesses within the community to continue its mission of saving lives. Donations go towards food, medical care, supplies, facility maintenance costs, as well as funding special programs like spay/neuter clinics for low-income families.
In conclusion, Yucaipa Animal Placement Society (YAPS) plays an essential role in saving countless lives by providing temporary safe havens for dogs and cats until they find their forever homes through various programs like Foster Friends or Seniors for Seniors matching service or adoption events held throughout each year! If you're looking for ways you can help support this amazing organization's mission please consider donating today!
