It wasn t terrible but it was quite miserable.no phones allowed at all in the building no free visiting whenever you liked. Some staff would talk about the youth and joke around. They easily blame and fault you if you are a student in Highschool for anything like transportation or not showing up to classes problems due to transportation complications. It smelled. The youth would always get in trouble for no reason with their group home system . Once you get inside it s not fun I tell you. They do little about let it continue before taking action. They invade your privacy at night when you are trying to sleep.

The shelter is really nice, clean, warm and cozy, however staff can be too liberal. Often they will let people staying there get away with too much, taking other people's food, leaving the bathroom and kitchen a mess not; cleaning up after themselves. Loud and noisey during the night, common courtesy and respect is packed. And staff tend to let it slide. But over all it's a very nice community and cozy environment just need to crack down on rules more so that the place is comfortable for everyone.

About YouthCare

YouthCare: Empowering Young People to Achieve Their Potential

Youth homelessness is a growing problem in many parts of the world, and it's a complex issue that requires a multifaceted approach. YouthCare is an organization that has been working tirelessly to end youth homelessness and provide young people with the support they need to thrive.

Founded in 1974, YouthCare has been at the forefront of efforts to address youth homelessness for over four decades. The organization provides a range of services designed to help young people get off the streets and onto a path towards stability and success.

One of the key ways that YouthCare helps young people is by providing them with safe, stable housing. The organization operates several housing programs, including emergency shelters, transitional housing, and permanent supportive housing. These programs are designed to meet the unique needs of different groups of young people, from those who are experiencing homelessness for the first time to those who have been on the streets for years.

In addition to providing housing, YouthCare offers a wide range of other services aimed at helping young people achieve their goals. These include education and employment services, mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment, healthcare referrals, legal assistance, and more.

One thing that sets YouthCare apart from other organizations working on youth homelessness is its focus on empowering young people themselves. Rather than simply providing handouts or temporary solutions, YouthCare works with each individual client to identify their strengths and goals and develop a plan for achieving them.

This approach has proven highly effective: according to data collected by YouthCare itself as well as independent researchers like Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago , over 80% percent of clients who complete one or more programs offered by Youthcare exit into stable living situations such as permanent supportive housing or reunification with family members; nearly 90% percent report improved mental health; over 70% percent report improved physical health; nearly 60% percent report increased income through employment or benefits access; almost all clients (99%) receive some form of educational support while enrolled in programming; among others positive outcomes reported by clients served through various program offerings provided by this agency.

Another important aspect of YouthCare's work is its commitment to advocacy. The organization works closely with policymakers at all levels – local , state , national- advocating for policies that will help prevent youth homelessness before it starts while also ensuring adequate resources are available when it does occur . They also work closely with community partners such as schools , faith-based organizations , businesses etc., building relationships across sectors so they can better serve their clients' needs .

Overall,Youthcare’s mission statement says it best: "We believe every child deserves a safe place to call home." By providing comprehensive support services tailored specifically towards each individual client's needs - whether they be related education/employment opportunities or mental/physical healthcare - we empower our clients so they can achieve their full potential . We know ending youth homelessness won't happen overnight but we're committed long-term until every child has access not only shelter but also opportunity!
