My son has been in the preschool program for about a 1 1/2 years. We have loved the pre-school. They have excellent staff and a great program. They have always gone the extra mile to make sure my sons needs are met as he has had some behavior issues. It is a good feeling knowing your child is well taken care of and that they also have their best interest in mind. It has been very easy to work with them. They have been a blessing.

Best YMCA in Chattanooga. They even have laundry service for your gym clothes and free towels.

The YMCA is amazing for our community and the staff is SO GOOD to my daughter & me. I've been involved with the Y (in some way) for most of life and some of the best people I've ever known work for this organization. I'm incredibly grateful for the support and kindness I receive every time I walk in the door!

My child has been a student in the daycare and pre-K programs since 2015, and I'm so impressed with the quality of education and the care, love, and support she has received from all of her teachers during her time here. They care for the wellbeing of the whole child, which is really so special. They know my child nearly as well as I do, and would do anything for her.
I also personally dealt an incident this past December where a man entered the building being threatening towards me as I was coming to pick up my child, and the front desk and office staff handled the situation perfectly, keeping me and her safe while also complying fully with the police department. This YMCA staff is like family, and we love them!

We really enjoy the basketball courts here. Workout room is nice as wel . Only complaint I have is, there's not much for kids to do. My son loves yoga and was really excited when we got our membership, but as it turns out the only thing he can do with us is play basketball. We would love if you would put a few kids classes on the schedule. Also, why aren't kids allowed to exercise on the machines with parental supervision? This location is really nice but it's really just been a waste of money for our family since we are looking for a place to workout and exercise as a family.

Bigotry and bureaucracy.
Not quite cheap, but if you don't mind the BS it's ok. Coaches, instructors, housekeeping are nice.

An especially good place to have your children, if you are looking to have an experience for your child, which is nuturing. A large gymnasiium with activities. A swimming pool for lessons in swimming for age appropriate children. Additionally, the outside playground with activity centers. Art projects are often the favorite for my grandchild. Reading is such a good example and the Y Staff read to my granddaughter daily. LOVE IT. Today we worry about how much we spend. However, this daycare is affordable for the working parent and there is NO COMPROMISE on the quality. It is AWESOME

I have been visiting with my daughter and had the opportunity to workout at the YMCA downtown. I am currently a member of the Y in Ohio. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. I was totally blown away by the size of your facility! All of the machines were clean and in working order. You have so much to offer! We are planning to relocate to Chattanooga by the end of the year and I am very excited to become a regular at the downtown YMCA.

The facilities are clean, the staff is professional and the trainers are awesome. My trainer Jonathan is very professional and encouraging. Many options for all age and skill levels. The ladies who greet you at the door make you feel welcome. YMCA is awesome!

This is in reference to the preschool. The teachers do not demonstrate respect. It is very unstructured. The teachers spend more time criticizing the parents and the children's bad behaviors then they do praising the good behaviors. The kids are also allowed to watch TV daily and lesson plans were not provided.

This is definitely the best YMCA I have visited in the US. It may not be the newest but it is definitely GREAT! It has an awesome gym with good cardio section and it has a separate cardio room. It has few additional areas for cardio and weights. Then you have few "rooms" for "wall tennis", swimming pool is great. There are two basketball courts and many areas for meetings and chill time. I don't know about women's locker room but men's locker room is so huge, it has sauna and all those things, so many lockers, provides towels, separate showers, chill area with TV and small kitchenette inside locker room. It is the best! Go and check it out!

And yes, staff is so nice and kind!

This is a excellent all around site. Great gym facilitiy with all the free weights and machines you will ever need. A very well rounded fitness class schedule and wonderful aquatic facilitiy. What sets this establishment apart from most other gyms is it s family friendly environment, wonderful place to take the kids swimming during the cooler days of winter and early spring. They even offer a comprehensive training program to get you started on the road to fitness. The best part is this is a nonprofit organization that does so much for the community. It s truly a beautiful thing.

I love Lynn's water class.... Staff is courteous and professional

It's a nice gym. I was visiting from out of town and was told that it would be free since everyones first visit is free. I'd go back next time I'm in the area.

Editing my review because I've been so pleased every time I come into this Y. I had some issues with my membership when I would try to use it in other cities, and they kindly worked with me to solve the issue and gave me a card with a number to call in case I had any more issues! It is always clean here and I love what they've done with adding the stretching & core area. Never had an issues finding a treadmill or cardio machine. Sometimes the weight floor is crowded, but if you find a better time to go besides right after work, you won't have issues!

I'm very impressed!! Came for a quick workout between an event and ended up spending a few hours here!
I worked out, then showered (didn't bring anything to shower with but they had everything). After that I ate and worked! They have quite a few lounges and areas as well as tables, work stations, complimentary coffee everywhere, etc. Great staff as well!

Great place to workout, fun and friendly atmosphere!

We have recently enrolled my son in this daycare. After having two friends who also have children in their care that recommend the facility it was a no brainer to put our son here. They got him started with less then a weeks notice after I got a quick job offer. It is the cheapest in town with no waiting list and the longest hours of care. While it isn't a brand new building, the playground area is nice and the classrooms are filled with books and toys. They also have an onsite cook and meals are included which really saves on providing a lunch and breakfast every day.

My son hugs everyone goodbye each day and freely walks into class and hugs me bye without a blink and smiles every time I say the word school. It is his first time in full care at almost 2 and I am amazed at how swiftly he got in the groove and the teachers worked with him. Working and living in the downtown North Chatt area makes this location so convenient. Plus once he moves up they have a potty training center which will be a huge help at home.

My trainer dropped me even though we worked out together for 9 months, without notice, explanation or apology. Jacob at front desk needs to learn some tact when dealing with members. Manager had to be asked to change channel in main gym -2 people in bed going at it- she acted like I was nuts. Generally good place, with exception of a few that need to find other jobs.

I Love the Downtown Family YMCA! The staff is so friendly, kind and helpful. I have been enjoying the exercise classes.

Clean, friendly, will kept equipment and tons of classes (free) with membership!

It is in a great location and has everything you could want to do!

New to the area great place to workout and see people

Life guards kicked me out early because they didnt feel like staying till the pool closed. I felt this was rude. They closed 8:10 rather than 8:30 on 01-31-2020. They said not enough people were there for them to bother staying to finish their shift. I was very dissapointed as I rushed to the gym to make this swim and front desk assured me it was open till 8:30.

If you are seeking a Christ-centered environment where your child is free to learn, grow and play, the Preschool at the YMCA is the place. The hours are convenient to the working population and the care and concern shown by the director and her staff is commendable. Parental involvement is key to a successful relationship with any early child development center. These are people who will truly work with you and your child. My child received a well-rounded, multi-cultural experience which was important during a difficult transition in our lives.

Please don t plan on taking your kids there for daycare, there s no compassion for kids, no patience,or taking the time out to learn your child.I took my son there and instantly they was complaining and calling me at work, over minor stuff, instead of getting to know my son and making him feel comfortable, he has a speech problem and Syskin was scheduled to come there every Friday to work on his speech impaired, we did even make it that far, I m so discussed with the Y, I thought they were better than that being faith base, I will just pray for a better place They didn t pay him enough attention to meet his needs,I think that s the reason they didn t have the patience or time to deal with him, they gave him no time for him to get adjusted , I had to take a week off work just to find another daycare that are professional and really know how to comfort kids and make them feel comfortable, my son is 3years old ,and very comfortable where he is now.

I love this location. Have visited multiple times to use the pool and have enjoyed it. Locker rooms are clean and lifeguards welcoming. My niece always has a blast.

Very good YMCA branch, offering numerous classes for people of all ages. Equipment is slightly older. The dressing room is clean and the sitting area for women is nice if you need a break to relax before heading home.

I love the Y they always have nice employees and good facilities.

The downtown Chattanooga YMCA rocks! They have two pools, hot tub, great weights and cardio machines. The exercise classes are the very best. We attend three yoga classes a week. The Women's changing room is super clean. The staff is awesome. They know our names and chat with us on every visit.!!! Best workout facility in Chattanooga!

All of the staff there are awesome and encouraging and are there for you and your goals!

If only I had pics to show how segregated we still are. All the ppl with color was asked to take a swim test. The others just jumped right in the pool no questions asked no nothing. A lady approach my son an told him to go on the the other side without even asking him if he had a swim card or not. On a lighter note the young man that watch my son PAST his test was very apologetic in what took place. Also I do like how they keep very clean. But some of the staff was very rude as if we are not wanted. SO I WILL NOT BE BACK AT THIS LOCATION

I appreciate the numerous fitness classes that the downtown Y offers. I can typically find something in the time slot needed to fit my schedule. While I don't participate in the community involvement activities, I think they are a great idea.

I love this place. The staff is professional and friendly. The equipment is fine and the leaders that be seem to at least try and stay up to date with new IT. I've always loved the YMCA and have no inclination that those feelings will change. Thanks for helping so much in the community; that includes my families lives.

This ymca has very friendly staff. The building has 3 stories, 2 pools, a gym, juice bar, daycare with playground, family locker room, women's shower, mens shower, 2 lounges, several activities. I had no idea that ymca offered date night, childcare, lots of excerising classes and more. There is so much to do here for the entire family, you could spend day and night here. And the membership is very affordable.

Ridiculous pricing for a single adult. Especially when the equipment is 20+ years old.

I use the pools mostly. They are terrific for aerobic exercise.
