Yale University is a private research university located in New Haven, USA. The school was first established on October 9, 1701 in the name of "University College" and is the third oldest institution of higher learning in the United States. In order to thank Yilihu Yale for his donation, the school was renamed "Yale College" in 1718. The College was originally designed to train theology and scholastic linguistics for the Congregation, and has since joined the Humanities and Science Education Program since 1777.

I was in contact with one of the Professors there to make arrangements to conduct research work on O'Neil the versatile playwright because my optional subject in postgraduate level was American Literature. I have a plan to visit the US in September middle of 2016.

I can't tell you how this place is. I go downtown New Haven, CT and I'm at YALE. Yale is at least 60 percent of downtown New Haven. So what to tell? It's a big Ivory league school, we all know that. Some President went there, so what, it's a big Ivory league school one of the oldest.

Omg!! I learned so much: How to eat, how to sleep, how to walk, how to talk, how to buy things, how to breathe. I mean, I never knew how to do those things before!! Oh and I got kicked out, so they must have thought I was doing so well that I could function in the world so soon. In your face, graduation! I have a great career sitting around hungry and cold all the time. Wish I got a raise...but I like my job.

One of the most famous universities in the United States, founded in the early 18th century. It is very interesting to wander around the campus. There are several museums, including an art gallery with old masters. Very beautiful buildings.

A cool and unique place. A large and extensive university complex, with various facilities: shops, supermarkets, coffee shops, souvenir shops, clothing stores, etc. Magnificent architecture, nice and looks sturdy. Students look energetic and like to study here :)

40 minutes speed walking around Yale, we didn't get to see everything but what we saw was so superb. If you are anywhere near the area, definitely make time to visit. I was like a little kid in Hogwarts with all the history and architecture. If you are hungry, try Yorkside pizza, so much history there, fast and delicious. Don't go at night, we heard it's not too safe. Loved it loved it loved at Yale.

Now the staff is stalking me
Going in my bag and opening things that were not open, ringed by him, while he makes errelavent comments I can't find a correlation or relation. I just again bit the opened trail mix he was commenting to, and wrote this post. Hopefully the rest will just call him discusting and wrong and stop following him, or I just adopted another stalker... Junzi better get a raise. God help me. All I ever tried to do was the right thing.

Ah, Yale. I had quite an academic journey that included Yale tangentially in my plans. I applied to Yale initially as an undergrad, got wait listed and then rejected. I went to college in Massachusetts instead, and then I reapplied to Yale once again for grad school. During my undergraduate years, I never lost my enthusiasm for Yale, spending time with friends on campus, dating a Yalie, and using the Yale libraries to do research for my Senior Capstone project, and seeing performances at The Yale School of Drama, and Yale Repertory, and going to concerts with the Yale Symphony Orchestra.

I then reapplied to the Yale Drama for grad school and got in as a graduate MFA student; BUT, unfortunately, The New School in NYC then gave me a better financial and fellowship award package than Yale did, so I went there in the end to do my MFA. Truthfully, I did want to go back to NYC (I grew up in Brooklyn), rather than live in New Haven, BUT I was pretty much devoted to Yale as a place, and I loved the arts culture on the campus. I was willing to accept living in New Haven for three years if it meant being able to attend Yale.

It's my biggest regret that I didn't attend Yale though, as it was the ONLY Ivy League school I was EVER interested in. My Dad was a Columbia Alumnus, but I wasn't interested in going to Columbia. I'm not a huge fan of New Haven itself, but Yale's campus is fantastic (it IS the Oxford of the U.S.). If I'd gotten a better financial and fellowship award package from Yale it was EASILY my first grad school choice. IF I had gotten into Yale as an undergrad, I would have had to weigh it critically against the smaller liberal arts colleges I'd applied to, since that was more the experience I wanted at that time. In retrospect, I possibly should have applied to Brown for grad school also, and RISD was originally one of my "reach" undergraduate school choices, which would have meant taking courses at Brown through cross-registration.

Literally, I had to weigh Yale against Hampshire (my ultimate first choice) because of the unique pedagogical structure of Hampshire's academics. Honestly, I think Yale wouldn't have been the right choice for me as an undergrad, but I was DEFINITELY ready to attend Yale for grad school after attending Hampshire. It's just unfortunate that finances played such a major role in determining the outcome of where I attended grad school (I had to follow the $$$$). I will ALWAYS love Yale however, the campus is among my all-time favorite university campuses in the United States (Columbia, U of Chicago, UVM, UC Berkeley & UW Seattle being some of the others) and the fact that I got waitlisted as an undergrad, and then got into Yale School of Drama as a grad student was more than good enough for me.

The person who runs this is very unorganized, not understanding of what needs to be done and how long itll take and is a very rude lady. It is usually a hectic place from what many of the workers have said. Yes yale is a good school but i would not recommend going to this one. Hopefully they straighten up and get more organized soon or else they will have a bad reputation with people they work with.

If the ivies are your classmates, Yale is the popular, impeccable, tall girl with perfect hair and handwriting. She s too good for you but surprisingly approachable.

I ve gotten to know the university these past few years and it s, overall, my favorite ivy. (I have a modest volunteer position here.). It cares more about undergrads than any other (among ivies with large graduate schools - you really can t beat Brown at its own game). But the presence of its grad students enhances the undergraduate experience and creates world class centers that attract investment and corporate recruiting. Exceptional dorms, arts programs and ... well nearly everything. (Engineers may not agree.)

Photos are of the law school but it s integrated into the rest of the campus.

Not a student or alumna, just a regular visitor. We were here recently to see a play and visit the art gallery. When we found ourselves with some extra time, we walked around the old campus. All was pleasant and worth our time.

The old campus is beautiful with all the buildings of notable architecture and the surrounding foliage. Really reminded me of Oxford in England. I guess the old campus is what I'd recommend to be a first stop for first-time visitors. There is a Visitor Center not far away but we didn't get a chance to drop by. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a good camera as there are plenty of photo ops at every turn.

Due to pandemic, there are no university tours, so we are going on our own self-guided tours. No one was more excited than I was when we all packed into the van for New Haven.
But it was a letdown. First, it is very urban. You are crossing city streets to walk anywhere. In addition to that, we spent just one day there and were approached three times by panhandlers.
There are far better campuses where I am more comfortable sending my daughters. I don't think Yale was a hit with the kids either.
The architecture is beautiful and I am sure you get a great education there, but it was one of the least impressive campuses we have visited. I rank Lehigh University, Lafayette College, Swarthmore College, University of Rochester, and Villanova University as all better campuses than Yale. Swarthmore and Lehigh would be my top two picks in terms of student-friendy campuses.
