This has just recently re-opened by the original owners and my wife and I are so thankful that it is back! We love their Cadillac Margarittas as well as their Fajita Chimichangas. This establishment has plenty of seating inside and out and a fun bar area as well.
I was driving around looking for a place to have lunch when I saw X-Tapa Joe's Mexican food. It is off the beaten path on Pinnacle Peak road between Scottsdale Road and Miller. My first impression was that the restaurant was very clean and I was immediately greeted by a very friendly waitress.
Chips and Salsa were provided, the chips still warm. I asked the waitress if they had any Salsa that had more "kick", she said that they have several others and she brought out 4 different types. All were very good and provided the extra kick I was looking for.
I had the lunch special Chicken Flauta which they say is a smaller portion. I asked my waitress if this was just for one person because the serving was so large. I ended up taking about 1/2 home for another meal. They even packed up the salsas and chips.
The food was some of the best Mexican food I have had. If you are in the area, you have to give X-Tapa's a try, you will not be disappointed.
I keep trying but not anymore. The food is just okay, the service is not okay. Over priced. Not sure what I could recommend if anything. Their guacamole is good, and a fair price.
Really kind and personable folk. I don't go often and wonder why i don't. I love the food. I think it's a great place to go with a lot of friends for lunch or dinner. I've also used the back room for a private party. I'll do that again for sure!!
This was my first time to taste mexican food and be in a mexican restaurant. It was classy and cozy, it never fails my first time and my expectations! The salsa! The SALSA IS TO DIE FOR! Definitely go back here with Family and Friends.
cold food, slow service very pricy kids meals, expensive upgrades 3_4 $ for rice and beans (probably right out of a can) save your time, money and stomach
