Worklink: Connecting Employers and Employees in Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens Counties
Worklink Workforce Development Board (WDB) is a non-profit organization that serves as the link between employers and employees in Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens counties. Our volunteer board of directors ensures that the local workforce development system is market-driven and responsible in meeting the employment and training needs of businesses and job seekers.
Our mission is to provide a skilled workforce for our region's employers while also helping job seekers find meaningful employment opportunities. We work closely with local businesses to understand their hiring needs, identify skill gaps in the workforce, and develop training programs to address those gaps.
At Worklink, we believe that everyone deserves access to quality education and training opportunities. That's why we offer a variety of services for job seekers at all stages of their careers. Whether you're just starting out or looking to advance your skills, we can help you achieve your goals.
For job seekers who are just starting out or looking for entry-level positions, we offer career counseling services to help you identify your strengths and interests. We also provide resume writing assistance, interview preparation tips, and access to job listings through our online portal.
For those who are already employed but looking to advance their careers or switch industries altogether, we offer skills assessments to identify areas where additional training may be needed. We also partner with local colleges and universities to provide access to higher education programs that can lead to better-paying jobs.
In addition to our services for individual job seekers, Worklink also works closely with local businesses on a variety of initiatives aimed at strengthening the regional economy. For example:
- Apprenticeship Programs: We work with employers across multiple industries (including healthcare, manufacturing, construction) on apprenticeship programs that combine on-the-job training with classroom instruction.
- On-the-Job Training: Through our On-the-Job Training program (OJT), we provide wage subsidies to employers who hire and train new employees. This program helps businesses offset the cost of training while also providing job seekers with valuable work experience.
- Business Services: We offer a variety of services for local businesses, including recruitment assistance, job fairs, and customized training programs.
At Worklink, we are committed to building a strong and vibrant workforce in Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens counties. Whether you're a job seeker or an employer looking to hire skilled workers, we invite you to learn more about our services and how we can help you achieve your goals.
