Working Bikes is an excellent organization! I went in yesterday to find a bike and the very first one I was shown was a 70s blue Schwinn! Absolutely gorgeous! I shared my story of having a blue Schwinn as a child and my bike being stolen. It fit me perfect. They let me test ride throughout the store. I was given a brand new lock for my bike and shown how to use it along with other features on my bike. Devon and her co-workers were amazing and very helpful! I will definitely be back in! I highly recommend this place to anyone in search of a good bike and great service with a smile! Thank you all so much I love my new bike!
Best place for cheap bikes, parts and repairs, and they work for a good cause.
Not for profit with hundreds of the bikes great for city riding. Good people.
Good technicians who know what they are doing. Had a good selection of reasonable priced bike jerseys as well.

I had a problem with my bike and I thought I was going to cost an arm and leg however it was just a matter of screwing some screws to fix it. The guys fixed it at no charge. Great service and definitely recommending this place!!!!
BUY YOUR BIKE HERE!
1) This place does super cool work and your money will go towards a great cause.
2) The staff rocks. Kiki helped me out big time and made finding a bike super easy. When I told her I was new to Chicago, she even gave me a free Working Bikes pint glass and told me "welcome to Chicago!"
3) It's got a great selection of bikes and an in-house repair shop. They have every accessory you would need when buying a bike (locks, lights, helmets, etc) and for great prices.
4) Everything is fixed up very nicely and is affordable compared to other bike shops.
THANK YOU WORKING BIKES!
Really good people that teach you how to fix your bike
After reading the reviews, I thought I d give this place a try. I wanted help in purchasing a used bike; I haven t had a bike since childhood and wanted to know more about my options and what the terms on the price tags meant. Walked around for about 15 minutes. No one helped or even acknowledged I was there. Several employees were there and didn t even make eye contact with me. Some were helping other customers while others were walking around. Walked in and unfortunately walked out.
A wonderful place to volunteer. Awesome staff. Definitely would do it again.
Nice staff! Truly accommodating to their customers needs, and a big shout out to Kiki, the nice woman who helped me find a bike I'd like to purchase!
I had a great experience here. Very nice place. Friendly and helpful. I enjoyed being there. Will most definitely be back. Great staff.
the people who work here are douchey
i showed up an hour b4 close .
some goon tried selling me a lame bike when all i wanted was parts for the bike i brought in. they were like, "oh theres no point in fixing your bike just buy a new one".
he tried convincing me to donate my bike to them so that they could ship it to Africa to some people who "really needed it" . i ended up getting the parts i needed and some fool who works there was like "no . its not gonna work blah blah blah"
i had high hopes for this place and its a really cool concept but i had a Wack experience here.
the rim i bought was bent as hell and was a complete waste of 15 dollars
Great community resource and the best place in Chicago to buy a used bike or parts.
Bought a bike here and I absolutely love it - it s genuinely changed my life for the better and I ride it everywhere.
A couple of weeks after purchase I noticed my gears starting to slip more and more so I contacted the service department to ask about the issue. Josh replied straight away telling me to bring it over at a specific time and when I took it in he fixed the problem free of charge within about 15 minutes.
My bike now rides like a dream and Josh and all the other members of the team could not have been more friendly and helpful.
In addition to this it s clear that they do a lot for the local community and beyond.
I will definitely be recommending Working Bikes to any of my friends looking for a second hand bike to get them round the city.
Great bike repair service and knowledge. Always have confidence that customers receive great attention! Thanks Working Bikes.
I thought this was a tire shop to floors of bikes tires and inner tube and yet don t have one size that I needed never coming back to this location or having service at this location again
Working bikes is great - best used bike selection in Chicago. Staff is friendly knowledgeable and helpful. Kiki is the jam!
This isn't your typical bike shop I love this spot they started near my house here on Taylor and Western you get what you need nothing fancy necessary here you can come up on amazing bikes at really reasonable prices if you know bikes and go get here it's almost like an gently used Ralph Lauren or Tommy hilfiger at tha thrift shop
Great place! Super down to earth employees. Excellent prices and service. Highly recommend Working Bikes.
They do great community work, and provide a good value for bike sales and service!
Didn't have what I needed and I thought the bikes were over priced, but they do have a lot of parts semi organized. I think if you want to restore an older bike you'll probably find what you need .
This is a very good bicycle shop. Bought a great racing bike there for cheap, in wonderful condition. I came back in because the saddle was not quite right and they fixed it for free. They also have all other equipment you might want to add, like helmets and other safety gear. The people are very competent and it's clear they love bicycles. Hope this shop continues to thrive!
Wow. Great used and tuned up bikes for sale at great prices!
