I attended a Recruitment event at 9 Bond Street in Brooklyn May 2018 for a 311 Call Center Representatives position @ King TeleServices. Professionally dressed , brought all the necessary documentation, even a copy of my Certification as a Certified 311 Call Center Representative. I met with Ms. Vanessa Garcia. In which the start date for this job started May 14th. I sent voicemais and emails from May 7th to May 11th to find out the status of the interview with the company, Ms. Garcia didn't even have the common courtesy to respond. I sent a email to the NYC commissioner to make him aware of the insubordination of Workforce 1 and it's disrespectful and disregarding employees. What I want to know is there screening process based on THE MEAN GIRLS CLUB ?

Great location, great workers. If you're not someone who is familiar with how hard and tedious it can be to do job search, then you shouldn't waste your time with any type of recruiter. But the fact that this location exists and creates a connection to open job opportunities is great for Brooklyn.

This has to be some kind of government-run scam. After wasting time for four or five hours over a total of two days applying for Gap, the recruiters eventually gave me a piece of paper giving me instructions to apply online. So... there was absolutely no point in going to the interview through Workforce1.

What's worse, I followed the instructions on the paper and no such position existed. I did a manual search and again, there was no position. The whole ordeal was a scam, a waste of time, and the agency has access to my personal information.

Managed by the government, it's hard to determine what the operation's purpose is, but I don't trust it one bit. Perhaps multi-million dollar corporations are getting government money by pretending to do job interviews. The fact that one is supposed to spend about 10 dollars going to and from three different job interviews for positions that aren't even full time nor well-paying is despicable for a government-funded public service. Instead, it seems the government effectively profits more from you via your extra use of the MTA.

The numbers advertised by the organization are pathetic. In the years it's been active, only 80 applicants were successful for Gap. There were about half that many applicants in the room in one day. By shoving tons of applicants in one room to have some suit shark one-by-one analyze each person with questions (incredibly time-wasteful for all of us eager to pursue jobs), it's evident the companies save a lot of their own time and resources thanks to this organization.

My advice is that if you see a job is hiring through Workforce1, save yourself the time and money and just apply directly to that place. Workforce1 always turns out to be an additional unnecessary interview prior to having another interview on-site. Despite what it may advertise (the ad for the hiring Gap session promised next-day employment, but instead people were invited to a next-day second interview, followed by my faulty online application instructions), nobody is ever hired within the offices of Workforce1.

Rather, I suggest coming here and using their free resources; if you've already sacrificed your personal information, that is. If you need to print a resume, instead of spending 25 cents at FedEx Office, print one for free in their office. Actually, just print all your stuff there until they don't let you use it anymore. Our tax dollars are already at work, may as well use them. At first I was impressed to see the New York government crafting an organization that helps its populous find jobs, but it turns out it's yet another hand interested in keeping us down.

I'm a bit worried as to what an organization like this has the potential to become. After my interview with Ikea a few weeks back (which was held by the office sacrilegiously located in Brooklyn Public Library), I went directly to an interview for a mom-and-pop owned restaurant. Much to my surprise, Workforce1 was recruiting at this restaurant as well, and the same lady who interviewed my for Ikea was there. I shouldn't have to explain how it's unnerving that my performance at one job interview directly effects my performance at an interview with a totally unrelated company, but there you go: the government has a record of where you apply and how you do. Sounds to me like an unconstitutional invasion of privacy.

Michael Bloomberg can receive some of the blame. His name is printed right on the door as you walk in. Maybe this is his way of winning votes from the lower class. We're not that stupid. If time is money, then Michael Bloomberg is guilty of fraud.

Boycott Workforce1!

This Worforce One center did an Open Screening for the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on November 6th and 7th. They gave myself and several applicants who passed the screening process the Incorrect Date and Time for the Actual Job Interview. I was told the Job Interview would be Monday November 11th at 1:00pm when it was actually on November 7th at 1:00pm (same day as the screening). Because if this human error I missed out on an employment opportunity along with several other people. The costumer service line does not work. Workforce one has NOT taken any accountability for this error. I do not recommend going to this location.

Very helpful and very nice. Never let me down with finding a great job. On the contrary i came with my newborn of 2 months in the am and they said there isn't children allowed here.. so what if your a single father or mother looking to get employed. That is ridiculous!

This was my second and last experience at Workforce1! Most of the people that talked to me were disrespectful and unwilling to help! The first time I went there was last year! Around the same time as this year. Specially Angela Liu, she was arrogant and disrespectful to me. I have been applying for Barclays center. But now I understand that I don t belong there, because if only applying is daunting, that is a reflection of how the atmosphere of work could be at Barclays, as well as workforce1! This place is perhaps good for people who are in deep need, and there is no other resource to find a job! Very entry level jobs. Angela Liu after she decided not to select me for the Barclays, had the disrespectful audacity and arrogance to offer me a job at a French restaurant and I am quoting her, because years ago, when I was very young I worked at a French restaurant and those people disrespected me so badly, at the point where they didn t pay me my salary, and treated me like a slave, worked 6 days a week, 12 hours a day. I am a tax payer, and I do believe these people at workforce1 are paid with our taxes. And it is so unfair when you need some help from them, the only thing we get is breadcrumbs with some of the very best insults. Very unprofessional and very low sense of humanity. Angela Liu and workforce1: Thank you for nothing! And unfortunately my taxes will end up in your stingy pockets. Thank me for everything.

Maysa Phaison is a disappointment. She discriminated against me by not offering me a chance to interview with Banana Republic although I was dressed professionally, have lots of experience on my resume. She offered a high schooler with no resume a chance to go interview. Disgusting discrimination. Maysa is a jerk.

The recruiters are rude and have nasty attitudes especially the females. One of them whose name is Jolene Calabasa always dresses inappropriately trying to get attention from men. I would not want her around my boyfriend because this HUSSY would try to entice him. She flirts with the males that come to her looking for a job and does not care if they have a girlfriend.

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!!!

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!!!

If Google would allow users to rate locations NO stars, I would rate this location as such.

In a summary, I was told I did not qualify for a position because my resume showed too much mobility.

Mind you, each job I had was an upgrade from the last both in prestige and pay and I was in each position for a minimum of 6 months.

I went from RadioShack, to Best Buy, to Apple retail and then Samsung corporate.

I was asked why did I leave my last employment. I said I left because my job demanded 40+ hours, and because i could not offer such due to school I needed part time and I resigned. Then she said why do I have short employments within my jobs and I said because I was offered better opportunities as my skills and qualifications grew.

After the group interview finished she FALSELY told me that the reason I didn't get through is because I stated that move from job to job once they get difficult.

I told her that her evaluation was inaccurate of me and I wanted to give her feedback.

She said "didn't you say you leave jobs once they get difficult and that's why you left Samsung?"

I was stunned with the level of fallacy and invalidity that this woman claims I said.

DO NOT COME TO THIS LOCATION.
THERE ARE BETTER LOCATIONS TO GO TO

THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME COMING TO THIS LOCATION AND MY LAST.

I've been calling them since last week. They never answer the phone. You would call them all day long, just for some simple information, and all you'll get is an automated voice message system saying that the mailbox is full. Ridiculous.

Their services suck. The account manager Maysa Phaidon had set me up for an interview with The William Vale hotel but called me the morning of to tell me that they have to reschedule my interview cause the manager was over booked. I was told that the interview would be rescheduled really soon. I sent her an email for a follow up and never received an answer back. Never again will I go back to you guys. Very unprofessional!

Don't bother for jobs the front desk person is only on fhe phone trying to make hot dates and Richard and Meysa givd you the round around and wastd your time if you hear of a job go straight through the company don't waste your time with work force one they act like they are bigger than they are. RICHARD STICKS OUT HIS CHEST AND SAYS I AM THE ACCOUNT MANAGER FOR ALL SHAKE SHACK, basically he is full of crap. Also you can file complaints by call 311 I filed two so far. Work force 1 in 9 Bond Street Brooklyn sucks.

Their job at this location is, they should be trying their best to help you to find a job but you're pretty much on your own. Sure they give you some information but it's not much help or you have already tried them as well. You have a better chance of finding work on your own time. That's just my opinion. Oh yeah, get ready to sit and wait sometime so make sure you bring your own entertainment if you can.

I was just there yesterday and what a waste of time this was for me and many others. They put you through an annoyingly over-the-top group interview for nothing, only to pull me and several others out into the hall for a rejection. I was let go simply because I did not participate in the silly random questions the jackass recruiter tossed my way like a half-eaten sandwich. He has no idea how I'd do in a serious one-to-one and he'll never know. As for the remaining 20 or so still in the room, thinking that they're ready to snag a low-paying job with a retail outlet will be in for a rude awakening and I'm pretty sure of it from these reviews I'm seeing. Stay away if you're serious about getting a good job. This place will waste your time!

If you need a quick job, then it's OK. Before you go to any interview, make sure that you go to the resource room and do a little digging about the job at hand. Sometimes, the jobs are scams, commission only or just retail.Other times, the job is on a mass hiring kick and seem frantic and unorganized and as a result you feel flustered. To be completely honest, 99% of the time the jobs are low paying. Only in that rare instance will you find a jewel at $13 an hour.Workforce one has been my go-to as I struggle to keep a job in this demanding, expensive borough called BROOKLYN. It is what it is. I cannot expect Workforce 1 to help me find a career as it is only for finding a J.O.B so that you are Just Over Broke.

I understand that a lot of the recruiters there as well as the staff which are trying to be as helpful as they can, but from time to time, it can get really slow and nothing would move for about a couple hours. When the afternoon comes, then there is no waiting for anyting. But, you do get your resumes done here and file for a bunch of resources and be out within an hour. It is better if you have a laptop and have access to Google Drive, then come here to use a printer to print out your paperwork.
