One of the better pizza places in town. Love the way the crust is rolled so that there's a bit of sauce in it. Tends to be nice and thin crusted and crunchy. Always interesting pizza topping combos alongside the classics. Good amount of toppings and tasteful ingredients, always end up eating too much. Also open real late which is a plus.

I think this place is just okay. Their pizza is mediocre, the location is just grungy including the sidewalk, windows etc. You get the feeling the kitchen's probably scary. I've only been there twice and both times it was crowded. Consequently it takes a long time to stand in line to order and takes a long time to get the pizza out. It is a local popular place to watch ball games and sports on the TV. They have a lot of TVs within good sight of the tables. But, if you want good pizza, there are much better places to go (Pizza My Heart, Upper Crust)....

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. We were sitting at our table for over an hour waiting for our pizza. It was not even busy in the least bit. So after waiting for an hour an employee comes out and tells us we have to move from our table because it had been reserved. There WAS NO reserved sign on it. So my girlfriend goes in to see what the hold up was, our pizza had just been sitting on their counter for who knows how long. The guy just says "oh, sorry here you go" and made her carry the huge pizza out to our table. She didn't burn herself carrying the pizza though, because like I said it had been sitting out. Nothing like fresh cold pizza right? Also, another group of people were eating their food when a waiter came up and said you guys have been 15 minutes to finish because this table is reserved and there is no more room outside. They had just been served their pizza 5 minutes ago. And had 2 dogs. They can't eat with their dogs inside, so where are you proposing these people go? Worst service ever. Don't come here. They hate their customers obviously. They now cater only to customers who have reservations. The kicking us from our table was bad, but when we talked to the little manager about it he just laughed in our face. "Oh well there was a sign you guys should have saw it" there was no sign!! I want to see your security camera footage so you can show me this invisible sign you are talking about. 10 minutes later a big white board was put out. This was the sign he was talking about. Guess your employees forgot to put it out? Did he come to us and apologize for being wrong? Nope, just goes back inside. I am an HR BP had this little manager been one of my employees I would have fired him on the spot. This punk is no manager. I have been coming here for YEARS and have noticed the rudeness a majority of the employees have. We get it, you are really cool with your hipster clothes and piercings, but you are never too cool for a paying customer. Sorry to say but I will not be going back again. This was a spot all of my family and friends love to go to, but no more. It's not worth the hassle.

The owner seems very mature. Not sure how to make out his response. Great to see that you take your customer service very seriously.

Overall Excellent everytime I've gone I've never left disatisfied. If ever an error with the order they make sure to go above and beyond what most pizza joints would ever do to correct the issue. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the Santa Cruz area as well as locals created heated patio to chill on with your friends after a long hard day...

ENJOY!!!

P.S. Try the Garlic Bird hold the mushrooms pesto instead with feta cheese crumbled on top my FAV.

We're long time delivery customers. The last three deliveries have been not so great.
One had very hard dry crust, the next came distorted like the box had been dropped on its side. The last arrived barely luke warm almost 45 minutes after the email's ETA time. Also, it was a half BBQ Bird/Cruz Classic and the BBQ sauce was over the entire pie.
We appreciate your community support and hope the old quality returns.
Thanks for asking.

Cozy place. I didn't like the pizza very much, but the fins were good. At the counter, the girl was very kind and considerate. I didn't know what draft beer to take, because I didn't know them and she let me try three.

The ingredients are fresh. The menu looks great. Somehow that adds up to a dissapointing pizza. The toppings are put atop the cheese, so they all fall off when you pick up the slice. The crust is folded over the top of the cheese and sauce, but no toppings, by about 2". So if you have a 12" pizza, you only get 8" of toppings. That means 50% of the area of the pizza is toppingless. Flavors are bland. This place is pricey too. For the same money you get way better pizza at Boulder Creek Pizza just 20 minutes up highway 9.

I appreciate that Woodstock's has my information saved and are always friendly and willing to work through the myriad of questions/changes I have. It seems like I am always pleasantly surprised by a deal or discount that I wasn't expecting but that has saved me again and again, and kept me coming back. I never feel like I got robbed when it's time to pay because they always include the taxes/delivery charges in the total given and when they upsell they openly tell me the price so I can make an informed decision. Example: would you like white crust or try our wheat for $999? NOT: would you like white or wheat crust? Then add $999 to my bill.

(Warning: young adults from Central Florida in for vacation) With only 25% of the seats filled, I m not sure why it took 30+ MINUTES BETWEEN ORDERING AT THE COUNTER TO RECEIVING our personal pizzas! Grrr. We liked how EACH PIZZA WAS CUSTOMIZABLE from the crust (including gluten-free!), to the sauce, to adding or subtracting from different topping combos. Each pizza can also come personal sized. Hubs had no complaints for his Woody s Waui - pineapples, bacon, and onion. I forgot the name of mine, but it had artichokes and generous chunks of fresh tomatoes. While the tomatoes would ve tasted better oven-roasted, I enjoyed the simplicity of my dish where I could taste all ingredients. A LARGE PATIO ALLOWS YOU TO DINE OUTSIDE and/ or bring dogs. There s also a good number of TVS AND A NICE BEER SELECTION (including local crafts!).

Woodstock pizza is delicious and the space is really chill. Super casual, great beer selection! Just be aware that you will likely wait about an hour for the pizza. Tonight we waited an hour and a half. That would be alright usually, but you have to order, pay and then wait. It makes it difficult to sit here, or rather, you need to be really dedicated to getting that tasty pizza! Happy hour is from 3-6 and 9+ and you get a great deal on a liter of beer!

Pizza is good (not spectacular) but :20 wait in line to order and then an additional wait of over an HOUR for two pies is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. Too expensive by far for the overall experience.

They get very busy so be sure to order ahead at least 45 minutes for delivery and sometimes dine in. It's worth the wait. Just get a cinnabread with pecans and bacon and everything will be alright.

I first had Woodstock's pizza while visiting San Luis Obispo. I have Celiac disease and found their gluten free pizza to be among the best I've had since I was diagnosed seven years ago. When I found out that there was another location in Santa Cruz, close to where I live, I was elated. Finally, another option to add to my (very) short list of places safe for me to eat out at!

Staff professionalism: 5/5
Staff were kind, helpful, and very friendly.

Cleanliness: 2/5
There were crumbs all over the chairs, flies circling about, and a pigeon(!!) was wandering around the INSIDE of the building, eating whatever remnants were left on the floor.

Efficiency: 5/5
I did not have to wait long to place an order, and the food was prepared quickly.

Taste: 5/5
The pizza here is delicious. My partner and I both enjoyed our meals -- gluten free and otherwise.

So why the low rating?

On the drive home, I started to feel warm, lightheaded, and nauseous. I initally wrote it off as possibly resulting from fatigue and the drive down Highway 17. It didn't click that I had been glutened until I got close to home and was hit by an urgent need to use the restroom. Imagine the worst case of food poisoning you've ever had -- being glutened is worse than that for me and the effects linger for up to a week.

I really take issue with restaurants advertising their so-called gluten free options. Yes, the ingredients may be gluten free, but due to cross-contamination, the dish is not and should not be advertised as gluten free. Signage either needs to be PROMINENTLY displayed indicating the potential for cross-contamination or staff need to receive appropriate training regarding food preparation and the health risks of exposure for those with allergies or, in my case, an autoimmune disease.

I must add that I'm surprised that this happened in Santa Cruz of all places. It's not like I was dining out in some uninformed podunk town in a flyover state. We're in the freaking Bay Area!!

Maybe my experience was just a fluke. Either way, I'm not willing to take another chance. Looks like I will be sticking with my old favorites: High Five and Amici's.
