Oasis from the city.
Reviewing par 3 course.
The short layout is nice, very environmental friendly. Since it was a beautiful November day, lots of golfers and you will have slow pace of play. Considering many different types of golfers of mainly higher handicaps play, the conditions are as listed, so it may not be the grounds crew fault for that.
Very homey type feeling here, lots or polite solid red blooded Americans that frequent this course, unlike the cesspool of dirty politics in the city of Chicago, land of the illest noise.
Thanks to the manager for the post par 3 round bucket for the range, it was needed and I'm glad an honest Abe could tip your lunch for the following day. Would recommend Winnetka recreational area here, lots to do and plenty to be thankful for! Flags were at half staff here and that is understandable since Illinois politics is a couple fries short of a happy meal!
We will make America Great with or without President Donald J Trump in office. Realize that people talk negatively when you are doing great things because they are uncomfortable with themselves. And so...go out have fun, golf, play platform tennis in Winnetka because Google maps first choice misguided route to Wilmette golf club is too buje' for me!
FY* even the well fed (scavenger) squirrel pictured has terrific manners when given a cheeze it treat!
This course is in terrible condition. The fairways are uneven. My back hurts more from riding in the golf cart than from golfing. I understand higher prices for weekend golf on a Sunday. But the course is in terrible condition - it s not well-maintained and not worth $74. Next time I will go back to Glencoe. Hoping Sportsman s will be open next summer.
The property itself is beautiful, but the course is very poorly taken care of, the carts are old. The place needs a great do over.
This club is usually fine, but placing the metal cups upside down is ridiculous -making it a terrible place to host an event, especially a competition. Some of those cups sat less than 1/4 inch below the surface of the green. We were appalled that anyone thought it was acceptable to allow recreational or competitive golfers to pay and play in those circumstances. We ve played more than 20 local courses since COVID Safety precautions were put in place, and this is the only place we ve seen such blatant disregard for the integrity of the game. Go buy a few $2 pool noodles and fix it!
Wow, what a disappointment. This used to be a great course, tree lined, beautiful freeways, and tough rough. Yesterday, 5-21, not so much. I understand the rough is the rough, but huge clumps of mowed grass. That's just lazy. The course is lined with majestic trees. With these majestic trees comes helicopter seedlings. Some of the greens were covered so badly it made putting almost impossible. This course used have well manicured fairways. I Chicagoland is in a draught, I'm not sue if that's an excuse for having fairways almost as deep as the rough. Finally where were the rangers? There was a foursome that backed up the entire course. Friday afternoons can be slow, hence the need for rangers to keep play moving. My suggestion is take your $58 and play somewhere else.
Played there Friday May 21st. Awful. The course was slow and the conditions were deplorable. The rough was all weeds and neither fairways or rough had been cut in days. No chance I return this year ... maybe never
Fun layout but the course has not been well maintained and is in bad condition compared to years past. Some investment and remodeling is overdue.
Excellent test of golf on a wonderful piece of property
