Wine 101 Review

Really fun place. Had a great special going on last night, so it wasn't pricey at all. Staff was friendly too. Can't wait for cooler weather so we can enjoy the outdoor seating.

I love the atmosphere. All employees make an effort to know the wine club members. Good food and good wine. Love it here!

I really like this place for its spacious outdoor area. The food takes really long to come out though, but they are honest about it.

We enjoyed our visit. It does seem smaller than in the pictures; however, it was still nice. There are plenty of couches to sit on, and we were there on a Saturday evening. We had a bottle of moscato and a dry wine, too. We loved them both. We will be returning.

My wifey and I love going here to enjoy and drink their great wine selection and to enjoy on of the best meat and cheese board I've ever experienced. Also love that they have plenty of seating outside to enjoy the wonderful weather but, if it's a little chilly, you can ask for a blanket. They keep plenty on hand.

I have only been to this place only ever once, and it would be my last time coming here. My sister and I, came here after shopping in the area to enjoy half bottle Wednesday, we went and sat at the bar stools. It took awhile for us to be greeted, there was a little bit of a rush so it was understandable to have waited. About 20 minutes go by and we were finally acknowledged, the server did not seem interested in taking care of us whatsoever, you could tell because she was more interested in handling others that had just walked into the door. It took awhile for her to get us our bottle, because she took it out and sat it on the counter since she was pouring glasses and taking orders from others around us and not really giving us service. I have worked in the food industry before, while I was in high school and in college, so about 9 years of working and I know you have to work for those tips, this was just bad service. The only time she actually gave us anything on time was the check and she stuck around as well when we signing off on the check. We actually left a tip to another server that was serving us.

Selection was good, ambiance needed improvement, 80s hairband yacht rock was way out of place.

Stopped by because we heard band would play this afternoon. The GR8 band and waitstaff for both Wine 101 and the Busted Sandal brewery were topnotch. The courtyard was full up so we had to wait a bit for table to open but it was worth it. Masks used by all unless eating or drinking as usual nowadays.

There is nothing better than wine and great company. Wine 101 has one of the best happy hour selection in town. Although might be far for some, it s worth the drive for sure. The spread keeping our belly happy is to die for. Wine keeps close friends happy and traditions going.

Cleanest wine glasses, they seemed straight out of the box! A true gem in Helotes. This entire area has several unique shops that share an outdoor courtyard. Wine 101 has a HUGE wine selection, and tapas to keep you full, to go along with great service. They are open fairly late, to match the brewery next door.

Phillip and his Staff will definitely take care of you. I highly recommend!!

It used to be great! Now it's just good. Since they built the new building and expanded it has a different feel. No more fire pits (staff said due to the new insurance co). Seating isn't spread out as much so that old feeling of privacy is gone for most of the property. Live music from a guitarist playing softly in the background is gone (staff said no more live music except special events now). Miss the old place...

I really like the place and its flat bread and its variety of wines. We were there last Saturday, taking our guests home and everything was perfect except the music. We have heard other people there and have been happy and inspiring.

Hands down the best spinach and artichoke dip in the city and arguably the world. Great prices on the wine and the staff is extremely knowledgable.

They fo have a great variety of wine. The server was amazing, she did some we ine suggestions and we loved them. Will be back again.

This place was really cute. We had a great time. Plenty of selections on wine and food. I recommend the watermelon plate! It was unusual and really good. We sat inside but they have a nice patio as well. David helped us and was really nice and helpful. You can tell he loves his job. Great customer service! We will be visiting again soon with our friends.

Very good food, lots of wines to choose from, and fun ambiance. Beautiful sitting outside under the twinkly lights when the weather permits. Downside: when the weather doesn't permit and you can't sit outside it's nearly impossible to get a seat inside for more than 2 people at anything but the bar past 6pm. And even that can be difficult. Consider yourself lucky if you do. They did open up an area in the back but it doesn't have the same ambiance as the front of the place and it also fills very quickly, very early.

Nice relaxing wish the music would have went a little longer but all ok didn't eat there but will return cuz of atmosphere an to try the food highly recommend it for relaxing wife an cousins love the wine forgot witch one

Great food to share and amazing wine selection. David, our server, was very helpful in wine selection. Definetly found wine we all enjoyed. The cheese board was very flavorful, and the Chicken Cesar was amazing with the bacon and dried tomatoes was absolutely wonderful! Our friend had humus and a lava cake which they both thoroughly enjoyed. Everything was shareable with the plates they gave us. Great place to catch up over good food and glasses of wine.

A wonderful indoor/outdoor space to meet new friends, relax after work, and catch up with long time friends. There's an excellent wine menu and hearty snacks! The ambiance is quaint, cozy, and romantic rustic! My new favorite wine bar at the gateway to the Texas Hill Country.

For Valentines day we chose this location and the place is amazing! We were taken care of very well by our server Julia and the prices are extraordinary fair. Scenic outdoors and indoors areas, lights strung out that bring a comfortable light and their selection of wine is superb.

Great place for wine or beer and small plates. Outdoor sitting area is comfy to hang out. Great knowledgeable wait staff. Music on the weekends. Family friend place that shares courtyard with coffee place and dessert place.

Such a cute spot to have some wine or a beer and just relax away from the city! Also, don't forget to bring your pup! That was a plus in my book! I was super surprised when they brought out a doggie bowl and filled it with some nice cold water for my fur baby! Will definitely be comming back!

Great spot to hang out and chill. Very cozy with comfy furniture or bar tables to sit at. Thursday nights is free wine tasting, and last night was two glasses of white. They were very good. It was a generous amount for a taste, but definitely not a full glass. They have a small, but unique beer selection. We had the meat and cheese board to nibble on, and it was also generous portions, but not too much. It had a very good variety, along with some warm pita bread slices. We'll definitely be back.

Guys!! My fellow bros!!! Take her here for date night! It's simple and she'll love it. Now I'm no wine guy so it may seem a little pricey, but who cares spend some of that extra cheese on your special lady, or guy....its 2019 do who makes you happy...friend and try this place. They had this amazing 83 dark, it was a dark flavored 23 ingredient drink that perfectly complimented our meatball appetizer and made the night a chill exploration into what Helotes has to offer. Also I think my drinks name was Dr.Pepper! Try it!

Cant say enough good things about this little place. Their knowledgeable staff, great wine selection, awesome location and great insoor and outdoor seating make this a wonderful spot for date night or hanging with friends. They also have an amazing jazz band that plays sometimes in the courtyard adjacent to their building. Love, love, love it.

Great place to grab a bite, food is delicious. Greatest thing is that if wine isn't your thing there is a Beergarden right in the same courtyard just a few feet away and a icecream bar and a Antique store and Boutique next to that. This place rocks!

This was our first time visiting and won't be or last. The beautiful oak tree canopy is warned by subtle lighting. Knowledgeable staff are glad to help with wine selections. The tapas are great.

Been twice so far. Love the chill atmosphere and the delicious wine. The servers are all super nice also. Usually sit outside and drink the wine while listening to the live band that plays there on Saturday around 6:30 pm.
