This review is for Cafe on the Green. We came to Cafe on the Green for breakfast on a Saturday Morning. It was Lacross weekend and we decided the Cafe would be the best option because it was off the grid. I spoke to someone the night before and informed them I would have a party of 10 for breakfast the following morning. When we arrived there was only one gentleman working doing both the bar and waiting tables. Our food took over an over to come out, everyones meals didnt come out together (15 mins difference) and they forgot two of the meals. They ended up boxing one of the meals to go and unfortunetly the eggs werent cooked. I will never come to cafe on the green again for any meal. When I asked to speak with a manager they informed me that there was absolutley no one that I could talk to. The manager was on vacation and there no one else on property to assist. They took down my number and I havnt heard anything yet. I spoke with the chef and he was apologetic. Kristin (not sure her role) arrived and deducted money off the bill but was very snooty. Overall, this was the worst birthday breakfast, or anything breakfast in general, that I ever had to sit through. Over an hour wait for eggs, missing meals, and raw eggs. Stay far away!!!
Beautiful property, you can do anything from hiking to swimming, cross country skiing, snowshoeing etc..
This place is beautiful! They are right on the lake and the rooms are awesome with fireplaces.
Beautiful location! Food was ok, not great. Service was good. Attended a wedding
This is my go-to golf course in Lake Placid. Scenic, beautiful, and well maintained. Challenging but fair. The lunch at the clubhouse is also very good.
All kinds of activities for the family. Outdoor summer ski jump! Hiking, biking, market place....great area. Breakfast was icky at the snowy owl. Mushy muffin and donuts.
Amazing venue! We had our wedding here and it couldn't have turned out better! We were able to have our ceremony down by the water with Whiteface in the background, it made for the most beautiful pictures.
I really didn't stay here bit from the inside it's a nice resort.
Played golf at Whiteface G.C. in late May this year. It's one of the most picturesque and bucolic mountain courses in the area. The 6th hole is notable, elevated tee box, dogleg right to left, with a beautiful view of Whiteface Mountain. All around great course with well maintained greens. Also, since it's not immediately located near the lakes in the region, its light on the bugs during the spring season
Beautiful place! Very happy that we had our wedding here! Kristin was awesome. 10/10 recommend
Played tennis at the club, courts were well-maintained, and I appreciated that they had water there for us if we needed it
We found Artisan's Restaurant at the Whiteface Club and Resort through OpenTable.
I was staying with my girlfriend in Lake Placid for the week. It was her 40th birthday and I wanted to treat her to something really special. Everything about Artisan's was spectacular. I marked on the reservation that it was for a birthday, and the first thing the waiter asked when he arrived at our table was which one of us was celebrating a birthday... Great attention to detail! We were asked about our food preferences and happy to learn that they could accommodate our gluten free diet, including gluten free bread with butter. The food was phenomenal! We split the lobster bisque and it was by far the best I've had. I had the beef tenderloin, it was cooked medium rare to perfection and the flavor was delicious, also probably the best I've had. My girlfriend had the duck, and it was also cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful. Both plates were presented beautifully. Our waiter took great care of us and did not rush us through our appetizer even though we probably spent 30 minutes talking while it was on the table. Our dessert was served with a candle and a "happy birthday" written in dark chocolate. In addition to the food, the atmosphere was great for a date, or perhaps even a small wedding, very rustic and romantic. If I'm ever back in Lake Placid and I'm looking to impress someone, or looking for a world class meal, I will come here again.
there are no bad condos at this resort. The wedding party and numerous guests all rented condos here for three nights and no one had a bad thing to say. Beautiful views of the lake and golf course (btw, this course is excellent). Easy access to downtown; lots of great restaurants (Fireside Steakhouse is the absolute best!). We happened to...
Quaint elegance in a modern resort that was designed and built to look like a classic Adirondack lodge.
Things get better every year at the Club! A top mountain course in NY state and amazing staff and amenities. The course will challenge, so concentrate on hitting straight and not necessarily far. You will score well if you stay out of the woods!
This is one beautiful golf course well maintained with fantastic views throughout the course
Beautiful view, great food, very accommodating, perfect for non-smoking guess since the staff was complaining of the few people smoking their cigars outside after dinner.
Easy cross country ski course. Good clean facilities.
Attended a wedding, it was beautiful, elegant and a perfect night for all.
Amazing place, for family to relax . A absolutely recommended, very well take care place. Simply unique.
Our wedding this September at the Whiteface Club and Resort was better than we could have imagined. After seeing many venues in upstate NY and beyond, we kept going back to the lake, the mountains, and that gorgeous garden at WC&R. Kristin Parker was just as excited as we were throughout the whole wedding process and went above and beyond in every way possible. Kristin absolutely loves her job, which shows through in all of her weddings and interactions. We were so impressed with the staff, how friendly and genuinely happy and excited they all were for us. Kristin was up for anything, embraced our style and ideas and loved creating our vision. Not only did we have an amazing wedding to remember forever, but we made friends that will continue on past the wedding and bring us back to enjoy WC&R for years to come.
Need mores signs to locate the place. Beautiful setting.
We just had wine at the bar but it is a nice place right on the golf course. Good wine and snacks. Pleasant bartender too.
Really nice with a great location off of the main drag.
The Food, The Views of Lake Placid, The View of White Face Mt & The Gardens are all Spectacular!!
Delayed check in but staff was courteous and accommodating.
Beautiful location, and a great lodge. I was part of a wedding on site - the wedding planner and wait staff were extremely helpful and did a great job transitioning the guests from happy hour at the boathouse to the Main Lodge for the reception. Excellent experience!
Awesome golf course! Tight fairways and undulating greens with amazing views. True mountain course!
This place is great, but it s where you go when LAKE PLACID LODGE is sold out or out of budget. Can t say a bad thing, very solid for the price, not the best but still excellent.
Beautiful! We came from Syracuse to do hair and makeup for an amazing wedding party this past weekend. What a view!!
Wonderful dinner, beautiful view, extremely friendly staff. Loved it!
Top notch property with all the amenities including a spectacular golf course.
So many choices for golf in this area, WFGC is one of the best. Don't miss it!
Great family vacation and 70th birthday celebration.
I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to play golf here period after many years Hiatus I did not bring my own clubs and they provided some decent clubs even for a lefty. The course was in fantastic shape even though all those around it where browned out from the heat wave this summer. You do pay a premium but I highly recommend this course.
Amazing world class winter resort. We love to ski but never go to the same place twice. Whiteface was the best so far out of 10 different resorts in the Northeast.
Had such a great time the area is phenomenal . Hotel was very courteous.
Top floor bar is good for eats. Love skiing here, it's not as busy as Tremblant. We unfortunately had some cold/icy conditions but regardless this is probably the best place for skiing on the east coast hands down. Staff and locals are great too.
