I'm familiar with Whit's end in Decatur... But had not been to the Taylorsville location. Had a nice lunch there with a friend, and it was the Whit's end experience is expect coming from Decatur. The staff was helpful and friendly... There is also quite a bit of room for larger groups if needed. Located right off of Highway 48, it is a good place to stop for a bite to eat.

I was very dissapointed... at first by the menu which was very confusing and hard to understand, no children's options or actual "meal" options. I ordered a horseshoe which was called a "sandwich " on the menu and the hamburger came raw. My fiance ordered a sirloin steak which was supposedly 9 ounces... that cut up into 4 bite size pieces. The chicken strips I ordered for the kids were made with a strange textured batter, I'm guessing was a fish batter. I wish i would have taken pictures bc it was just a very awful experience. However they did take the horseshoe off of the ticket.. and I left without even eating. We won't be going back. And yes.. btw everything is so damn sticky.

My family and I love the food at Whit's End. It's reasonably priced and good quality.

Update 1/25/18 - We still like this place. Their new menus look great. To me, it's still the best deal in town for a family. I've never had a bad meal and the service is always good. I do prefer the bar side, because I can watch a game and eat. Whit's is one of just a few places in town to do that.

Good food and good service. I saw a review below that disturbed me. Said been customer for years but tonight wasn't feeling it, hmmm. If they've been a customer for years then they must like this good restaurant better than the one star they gave, ugh. No place is perfect but Tim has always fixed things for me when I had a problem, which is very rare. Affordable and Good Food.

The service is always prompt, courteous, and friendly. My daughter and I enjoy the pick two appetizers. Our favorites are fried cauliflower and hot cheese balls. There are a number of items to choose from on the menu. We usually choose one of the basket meals. I prefer the clam basket. My daughter prefers the cod or chicken. It's a family friendly, budget conscious, sit down restaurant.

We can't believe this place isn't busier than it is. Their prices are good for the amount of food. Most all the dishes we've had are good except the baked potatoes seem to consistently be old! Servers work well together in assisting each other.
