Very professional hotel and staff, but also very friendly. Highly accommodating to any of your needs. Plenty to eat or drink within walking distance. Hotel pricing was also very fair, especially considering the high amount of luxury the deliver and respect they give you. Highly recommend this hotel if your staying in the area.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean but the beds were a little stiff. Parking was very convenient and easy to get in and out of, they also offer valet. The bed was really the only thing stopping a 5 star rating.

Didn't stay in hotel. Ate at the restaurant "Todd English Pub" and LOVED the food! The manager "Caitlin" visited our table. She was so nice, accommodating and friendly! We had the fried pickles for an appetizer and shared the fish and chips for our entree! The sauce served with each one was great! We were actually just going to grab a quick bite just before our concert but we wound up loving the food, atmophere, waiter and manager so much we just didn't want to leave! Can't wait to go back!

Horrible hotel. No restaurant on site. 2 of my lights were not working in room. One of my phones was inop. Had to go to lobby to get ice bucket. Ice machine on my floor was inop. No coffee maker in room, no cups, nothing!! After going to lobby 4 times to get what I needed I return to my room and can t get in, because the door knob broke. What a waste of real estate.

We went here for just one night but everything was top notch. We got food ordered to the room twice and everything was delicious. We also upgraded the room upon arrival without any issue and the lady at the front counter was very approachable, as was the rest of the staff we delt with. Parking was light on the day we got in so that wasn't an issue either. We also went and used the pool and everything was very well upkeot there too. We will stay here again when we come through town again.

Coming off of vacation at the Westin Hilton Head R...

Coming off of vacation at the Westin Hilton Head Resort, I traveled to Birmingham for Business. I was originally staying at the Grand Bohemian (which I absolutely loved) but decided to switch to the Westin to be closer to food and entertainment. That was the worst decision I could have made. Once checked in, immediately had to change and go to a meeting. I did not get back to my room until around 10:45pm. Went to take a shower and noticed I only had 2 bath towels and 3 hand towels, no wash clothes. I was so tired that I didn t even bother to request some. That was my first discrepancy. Secondly, the fitness room and pool were closed. For the rate guest are paying, the hotel should be able to find a way to open their amenities while maintaining safety. Both the Westin Hilton Head Resort and the Grand Bohemian were able to do so. Also, upon checkout I called the front desk multiple times from the room phone and my personal cell for luggage service and no one answered. After trying to get a hold of someone for 10 mins I decided to go downstairs and get a cart myself. once off the elevator, I noticed a male employee casually standing there. Overall, this was a terrible experience. I highly suggest any guest who is looking for top tier service and amenities that the Marriott brand consistently offers, to stay at ether the Grand Bohemian or Elyton Hotel. This is a beautiful hotel in a great location, but the service is not worth price.

tl;dr - go to Grand Bohemian or Ross Bridge for a staycation with your spouse

Rare night out for the wife and me, as the grandparents offered to watch the kids.

Checked in with the wife around 4 and went to the room, which reeked of smoke. Alerted the front desk and was told we would move to a lower rate room. When asked if I would receive a credit, the person at the front desk tried to convince me the new room was actually better. When we moved to the 2nd floor, it was clear this wasnt the case, and a lookup at the rates advertised on their website proved that even the hotel doesn't believe it.

I went to the front desk and showed them the price difference, and they agreed that it was the case, but they couldn't do anything because I booked through my chase rewards. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, I was told that they just couldn't do anything about it.

At that point, I called chase travel, and I had to get them involved. Finally, an hour and a half later, the hotel agreed to do the right thing, and gave me a credit for $50. This was not how I planned to spend the first 1.5 hours of our night out.

As for the room, we were out on the 2nd floor, close to the elevators and the floor where all pool/fitness center traffic flows. It is 8a now, and I have already had numerous noises outside our door of traffic. Not ideal for trying to sleep in before picking up the kids.

I would recommend a different hotel to any parents trying to get a night out away from the kids. We've stayed at Ross Bridge in the past and enjoyed their pool area and overall service. We will try the Grand Bohemian next time, and I can only hope it'll be a better experience.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Really liked this place. Very clean room and bathroom. Friendly staff. Only negative I can think of is, there was no microwave in the room. Nevertheless, there was 1 in the lobby. All other amenities were there. Ideally located in the uptown. Would definitely recommend this place.

We love the Westin. We stay every year for our annual girlfriends trip to Christmas Village. In 5 years we have never been disappointed. Staff is professional and accomodating. Rooms are clean and comfortable. It is all worth paying more. We never have to leave the complex since parking deck and BJCC are attached. Makes 2 middle aged ladies feel very safe and secure.

Top notch hotel and you pay for it. It's very expensive. Very sad that I never got any points for my stay. I don't know what happened but very unprofessional of them not to give me any loyalty points for staying there, especially since it cost about $300 a night.

Our second time here, in love with this hotel! The pillows and towels have a sweet lavender smell and the bed is super comfortable . The staff are very approachable and attentive. Jennifer went above and beyond in giving us a speedy check in and a great room .

The location of the hotel in the city is optimal; providing an easy commute to nearby attractions. The service is excellent, and is everything you would expect from a four star hotel. I stayed here because of their pet friendly policy. They even have a grassy area across the street to walk a dog. The room was in excellent condition. Literally the only critique I have was a dirty towel in the bathroom... Things happen and it was still a good hotel.

The room was spacious, clean, and very modern. The staff was friendly. The first floor was very loud and busy, but the floor where the room was had no noise. The ability to choose a room service breakfast instead of the usual continental breakfast was nice.

Hands down worst experience ever. Had to go back to the hotel to retrieve some items I left and was told they were not there that I could call back at 8 that night to see if items had been turned in by then. A whopping 30 mins later when I found that they decided to charge me for damages which I did not do suddenly they can describe in detail items that I left. Woman that I spoke to was very rude and unprofessional I never once cussed her and she hung up on me after telling me to call back the next day. So I am currently trying to get these unprecedented charges reversed and am getting absolutely no response from management at this location unless you consider the manager of house keeping the proper help?

We stayed in a corner room and it was quite spacious. The bed was comfortable but I can't speak to the pillows. I always bring my own. For the most part the staff were exceptionally nice. Features of the room where great. I was pleased that the TV was not locked down in any meaningful way (I could easily plug in an HDMI cable for my laptop or Chromecast.) In addition an Ethernet cable was provided at the desk which was great. There is a ton of dining within walking distance.

The concierge Mikaela deserves more than 5 stars. She is so amazing and kind. Better service than the St. Regis. We had never been to Birmingham but I am so glad we stayed here. The rooms were nice and clean. One down side is the AC seemed to struggle to stay below 69. But I m not natured. Over all it was great.

We stayed here for the 2017 NSDA Nationals Tournament. Honestly, no complaints. The room was extremely clean, and hotel staff were gracious with amenities. A friend of mine really appreciated the mini office the hotel offered, with free desktop and printing access. The location also had an indoor sky bridge with direct access to the conference center nearby, which was really convenient.

The entrance was great! The valet was right there and surprisingly helpful upon our arrival, even though it was 1 a.m. when we arrived. I took a star away because, although, the front desk clerk was nice, she didn't give us all the information concerning amenities and how to access them upon check in. We had to remember to ask about the roof top pool, breakfast, the welcome pack for our pet, and WiFi access codes. Each question was asked individually instead of the clerk giving us all the information upfront. However, if a half star was available, I wouldn't have taken an entire star for that. It was late, and she wasn't rude or anything. Also, the room was incredibly nice. A very great experience. Keep in mind, complimentary breakfast isn't included, so be sure to add your breakfast pack to your bill, or you will have to pay separately at the Pub inside of the Hotel. The Pub inside this hotel was great; check out my separate review on it in the comments.

Stayed here for a conference, had Michela as my hostess checking in. This ladie was very polite and professional. I had forgotten my phone charger and she offered her personal charger to me to use until she had gotten off of work. That is going beyond normal service. The service was top of the line, the rooms were clean and the atmosphere was great. Employees like Michela are what make companies like Westin a great place to stay. Have stayed at the other hotels in the area and will definitely stay back the Westin again.

Beautiful property right in the heart of down town. Rooms are clean and luxurious. Lobby is inviting. The Pub is a great spot for a snack or a drink. The fitness center is perfect for a workout away from home. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Birmingham.
