The rooms are small and offer no way to cool them other than the window that opens 5 inches. This hotel does not compare to other Westin properties and is in need of a make over. The staff seem to be trying but are overwhelmed by the number of guests. It seems clear that foreign guests are not their priority. Would not recommend or stay again

We had a four day stay here recently.

Some rooms are a bit dog eared and you have to be on guard for smoke tainted rooms sold as non smoking. The garden is lovely and the proximity to Kyoto shrines makes this hotel a convenient location.

The dining here is excellent and convenient for those who don t take well to Kyoto winter temperatures. Fitness room needs better weight equipment and a larger space for a hotel with this many rooms but the indoor pool and sauna are very nicely maintained.

Our favorite spot here is the tea room adjacent to the lobby. Wonderful tea selections and sweets.

In a quiet hotel slightly away from the city, the room is quite large. There is a convenience store on the first floor of the hotel to buy things. There is a Japanese garden on the 5th and 7th floors of the hotel. The Heian Shrine is located near the hotel and can be walked around. The hotel also provides two-way access to the station, which is very convenient.

Located on the hillside in the east of Kyoto, the view from the window is excellent in any room. Location is also a 5-minute walk to Nanzen-ji Temple, and Gion, Ginkaku-ji, and Kiyomizu-dera are good by taxi immediately. The restaurant is also complete with Japanese, Western and Chinese. The in-room service is also affordable and it is a wonderful service that is provided with enthusiasm.

No good at all. There is a difference by the staff, but there are overwhelmingly many people who are not good.
A typical example of having a brand in the brand.
The staff in the parking lot feels frustrated trying to process it anyway anyway.

Nice room (garden view King), very friendly staff. 2 minute walk from a main subway line, which is convenient. Their shuttle service gets a star knocked off - we lined up for a 9:25 shuttle, people cut in front of us with less luggage, and were forced to take a later shuttle. That's garbage.

The Westin Miyako Hotel has a long history of nearly 130 years.

If you know that the ryokan culture of Japan and its emotional basis have evolved to embrace people who want to find cozy seclusion, I think you can understand the luxurious and sometimes dizzying maze-like space here.

If you are experiencing full service such as beautiful, luxurious and bright lanterns, you are relieved of the worries of unjust attacks. I feel relieved that nobody is going to shut up. It is the feeling that the shadow is naturally hidden in the tightly enclosed, cozy and bright space. (Long ago, Junichiro Tanizaki was so unhappy at night that he was very uncomfortable.

At the time of the sunrise, you can enjoy the seasons through the outside gardens and enjoy the scenery of Kyoto overlooking the terrace at a glance. Japanese style rooms and gardens, "Kasuien" make it famous, but stayed in Western style rooms. (The Heavenly Bed guarantees a very comfortable sleep. I usually sleep lightly as soon as I put my head on the pillow.) The Westin Miyako is a traveler who wants to get out of the world I wonder if desire is a paradoxical paradise expressed in the most secular form.

Attention: Because it is a large and complex hotel, it is a good idea to go to places to see and see so that you do not get lost.

Japanese Westins are invariably some of the best around and this is no exception. Service is superb, rooms spacious. The outstanding feature, though is the bento breakfast. Even after four days straight, it was still something to look forward to. The location is a bit far from the main sights, but this is mitigated somewhat by the hotel being very close to a metro station.

We stay in traditional Japanese style room. It was great. But my recommendation would be it would be perfect if you stay there during fall or cherry blossoms because they have small garden that you can enjoy beautiful Sakura or red maple leaves.

A good hotel ... Breakfast is buffet style or formal, but just as it is, the location is somewhat out of place. The shuttle goes every 20 minutes, but the personality is in a hurry, so I only get a taxi.

Old, wide and inconvenient

Old, wide and inconvenient
The road to the room is a long way from the elevator
The feeling that you can not escape if there is an emergency
The room is a suite and the sofa is poor
TV is smaller than usual room
The refrigerator is small, it can not be opened if you move the object, it is difficult to use and there is no device
There are many showers, but the amount of usable water is one
I'm troubled by the small number of outlet sockets
Breakfast is required for change to Japanese set meal
Since I paid 43,000 yen per person per night, I wanted to make it so flexible
Satisfaction is low for the price of payment

I have spent many nights traveling to Kyoto.
There is an espresso machine in the room, and the morning buffet also has a super food, and I like the quietness of Sakaikaki, which is nice to upgrade in a good sense every time, I also like watching Eikando and Heian Jingu Shrine from the rooms !! There is a free shuttle bus at the Kyoto station with luggage checked, so I think it's best to repeat it on a trip to Kyoto again.

There were more than 40 square meters of rooms and the 11th floor so the view was good. Maybe some smaller rooms. The appearance felt a little a year, but the inside is beautiful.
Also, this is the top rating, but the service was great. When I forgot the Shinkansen ticket and called the hotel, I realized that I could not make it when I got home, and the hotel brought me to the station when I was disappointed. That was a really big help! !

It was a good hotel.

It was a good hotel.
There was a time when I was worried about the sound of the next room.
I wonder if there were few foreigners.

The decoration was wonderful because it was Christmas.
Celebrating the birth of a grandchild at a well-established restaurant,
Return to the hotel and take the whole cake to your room!

The 10th place whole cake was laughable! ! !

The hotel is a tad worn. Service is rather impersonal. You don't know if they are approaching to greet you or to throw you out of the place.

The breakfast is not worth what they charge. Fortunately we found the Coffee Club a few doors down from the hotel where we were able to have superior breakfasts, excellent coffee, for a fraction of the price.

The absolute best service hotel! Very clean and the staff are all very nice and polite. They don t accept tips so I couldn t show any gratitude while I was there. I absolutely recommend The Westin Miyako to anyone traveling to Kyoto. The hotel is also very close to the train station. About 2 min walk

Although I am away from Kyoto Station, I think that there is no inconvenience in access because the shuttle bus can be used and the subway station is just around the corner.
In addition, when using for sightseeing in Kyoto, if you have luggage at the reception in Kyoto station, you can carry it to the hotel, so you can enjoy sightseeing in Kyoto lightly.
There is only a large hotel, and you can choose various room types according to your budget, but if you use it for sightseeing, a little luxurious room is recommended.
The customer service was not hard, and I had a good feeling of friendly service.

Best to avoid during ronnovations. A nice room upgrade that was recently renovated (most haven t been yet), but horrible service from there on which led to an unenjoyable stay. Under qualified concierge that doesn t arrive till 10am, which led to an hour of standing in the lobby for something that should ve taken 5 minutes to fix, and an embarrassing attempt to rectify the miss-information and situation by the bonvoy department. That hour delayed planned activities putting us at places during peak hours with large crowds, delaying other planned activities.

The hotel is somewhat uncomfortable in a remote location.
A shuttle bus runs between Kyoto Station and the hotel. Please refer to the concierge at Kyoto Station on the south side of Kyoto Station (Hachijo exit, Kintetsu Line).
You can send your luggage to the hotel at the concierge, or you can send a baggage at the hotel.
Room is spacious, breakfast is not very tasty, you can choose between buffet and Japanese style.
The Heavenly Bedding seemed to be the best.
I think I'll stay in the center more if I come next time.

An interesting hotel that has both Western and Japanese style rooms. We opted for the Japanese rooms that were laid with tatami mats and nestled into the tree-rich landscape with winding pathways, brooks and waterfalls. The breakfast was delicious with plenty to choose from. If you are looking for a more traditional experience, without the cost of booking into a ryokan, the Westin Miyako warrants strong consideration.

This is an amazing hotel. The renovation is pretty much complete and the results are spectacular. It feels like a top tier Ritz or other SPG hotel. The executive lounge is incredible compared to other Westins (including Tokyo). The staff was extremely courteous and bent over backwards to make your stay feel effortless. The location is perfect for dividing and conquering the many beautiful temples in town. There is a great coin laundry 10mins from the hotel. The central shopping area is also within walking distance. Shuttle bus picks up directly from Kyoto Station 3 times an hour.

The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood not far from the center of Kyoto.
The staff is friendly and there is an office in Kyoto Station, so if you do not have to come into the hotel to check in, you will be sent to the hotel if you leave your luggage. On the contrary, when you check out, you can send your baggage to Kyoto Station.

A western-style hotel that makes it easy for first timers in Japan to quickly settle in and explore the area. Not the most convenient location, but there's a shuttle that runs between Kyoto station and the hotel every 30 minutes, which makes it accessible.

Kasuien was wonderful. In particular, the bath in the room is made of Takano tub and is also a hot spring, so I took it three times. Supper was Dominique French. It was the best because the shop in Tokyo got 2 stars. In addition, we recommend you to enjoy various tastes with our unique service of serving wine in a small amount according to the dish.

Great property. Service is amazing. There is a free shuttle from the train station. Location is easy to the subway (2 minute walk) for sightseeing. If you are a new traveler to Japan this is an easy one. We have point-status so breakfast was included in our stay, however there are more than three restaurants onsite and less than a few minutes walk to other options.
