If you like a good treasure hunt this is the place. Good management clean organized. Plus all proceeds are given to charity.
Good quality for the most part. The book section is pretty big.
This is a thrift store owned and operated by the Mormon church. Donating items here is very easy as you can just pull around the back and there will be workers waiting to help you unload your car. They will also take pretty much anything - no questions asked. I have heard they won't accept mattresses, but I cannot confirm this.
The store itself is not very clean, but it is a thrift store. They have lots of clothes, books, shoes, and glassware (bowls, cups, etc). They sell a little bit of furniture as well. I give it three stars because the store could be much cleaner, and I do wish they had larger variety of items.
I was really disappointed with my experience tonight. My husband and I had a really bad day so we decided to dress up and go to the DI just to get out of the house. The first thing we heard as we walked in the door at 8:20pm was an employee loudly saying "ughhhh, I hate when people come in this late. It's already eight-o-clock. More people I have to deal with." The store closes at 9 and it wasnt like we came in at 8:58. We also got dirty looks from the employees as we left the store. My husband and I felt really hurt by their rudeness. I won't be going back to Deseret Industries for a while.
Troy was great thank you for making my wife comfortable and processing my order
Always an adventure of discovery. Men's clothing favors the lean and the mildly portly fellows. You in the morbidly obese or 56 waist +, ( as I am ), forget about finding anything for your self. Ladies have more prospects.
My wife purchased several items. She even found a Kohl's tag on a top-notch blouse! $5.00 .
Store was clean.
Checker was friendly and professional.
Plentiful parking was available.
Very bad Service of the cashiers today was and better to return everything that brought by the lack of respect of the cashier
Great day DI shopping. Tons of awesome deals. Found a pink princess tent for my baby girl . She loves it so much she had to sleep in it in the living room .
Hard to find what you need the store smells bad the clothing is so tight it's hard to see the sizes and clothes the ppl aren't very nice
The West Jordan D.I. is our least favorite thrift store. We enjoy shopping for collectibles and this location has practically nothing. It wasn t always like this in one week collectibles went from abundant to almost zero. People are obviously donating, like everywhere else, but the collectibles are being kept or relocated or sold through other channels. When we asked, we were told the West Jordan location is a donation center . We suppose this means it is no longer a purchase center .
There is no logical reason this location should be barren while every other D.I. has abundant collectibles to browse. Perhaps people donate the most valuable items at this location and it is more profitable to sell them elsewhere. We can only guess why this location is unique in its offerings. Shop instead for collectibles at Sugarhouse, Sandy (the best), Riverton, American Fork, or even Provo, which is only marginally better, but noticeably so.
Top notch DI. One of the best DI stores in the state.
Typical DI that also includes a yard area for outdoor type items. Great place to visit if you're budget is in a pinch. Also, a great place for employees trying to get started into a career. This store has bathrooms for public use.
I love a good thrift store. The staff is really nice and patient. I find it fun to see what treasures can be found.
There are regular people I see there every time they just sit around wait tell the workers bring stuff out. Well I had my daughter in my cart there was guy pushed my cart away from me I couldn't hold on to it my daughter still in cart. So he could run pass me to get to cart worker brought out. Well then we where out in yard coming threw the doors my daughter was walking in front of the cart. Regular lady pushed pass my cart cause I had the door open cause my daughter was walking she only 20 months old I couldn't even get to her. Lady wouldn't even let me pass. My husband pushes other door open so we could get to her. Think I'm done shopping here tell the regular people get fixed
Love this place and the effort put forward to keep us safe in this time of Covid. Your store may close early but you are working more for us. Thank you.
Quick and easy to drop off donations. Because of the area the offerings inside tend to be SLIGHTLY better than the DI by my house in West Valley or the locations downtown that get picked through more often...but alas, it's still a thrift store. So furniture has rips and stains, tables don't have matching chairs, and if you're looking for a specific size, you'll need to do some digging. But that's all thrift stores, so this is no different. I'm just mostly impress with the ease of donation drop off. Three dudes run out to empty out your car, you don't even have to get out...except I got about three blocks away before I realized they also took the car seat out of the back with my son still in it.
I mean I guess sometimes prices can be a little silly, but for the most part everything is extremely cheap and you can find TONS of high quality products. Everyone is always really friendly and the store is kept clean and presentable.
Never been treated so rudely and no one knew what they were doing. I was dropping off donations and they acted like it was the military. I will never donate again . I had an appointment they couldn t find it and I had to leave.
Cleanliness & organization is awesome! Prices are great! BUT some of the customer service is not at its best. This was my 2nd visit and everything was well till we got to the register. I asked for discount for working at Beehive Clothing, which I have used my first visit here, and they told me "No we only give discounts to Deseret Industry workers only." I politely told them I used my discount there before, they asked a manager and still didn't approve. Sucks they keep their policies or discounts the same all the time. Especially if it's listed on our employment discounts and also if I clearly used it before.
Realy gteat realy good prices i hete the chepeskapes that want a lowere prices
Staff is nice here. Looks like DI is trying to clean the place up too. It looks like a K-Mart in there.
Discriminatory practices. I saw them refuse to allow service animals. Management asked illegal questions leaving the disabled woman in tears. Would rate 0/5 if possible.
Great selection of used items the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints does an excellent job of filtering lightly used good quality items. huge section for women followed by men's section and smaller section for kids. They also have the yard area which you can find home furnishings car parts and electronics. Typically items are heavily used and dated but every now and then you will find a jewel. I bought a AppleTV for three dollars
Out of all the di this one has most jeans it s always got something for everyone n the people who work there are proud n excited to work there never a disappointment
I have a large family and can't afford new clothing.Prices are outrageous!!!!!!!!! I really wish they would , when pricing their items, take into consideration the fact that a large percentage of american working families are on a tight budget.
I love the DI.. Most of the time I come home with an awesome deal.. This thrift store is better than any other thrift store I have ever been too!
Fun place to find brick*a*brack.if your looking for well priced used clothing and furniture.
I found several Items that I bought for great prices. The cashier that checked me out named Rachel was very polite and helpful. She was cheerful and kind. She made my shopping trip a real delight. The store was well laid out and clean. The quality of items is excellent and prices are very good and affordable. I found an army cot for $8.00, a JanSport backpack for $10.00 and a self inflating backpacking sleeping pad for $7.00. The store is closed for remodeling right now. They will be reopening on November 21st. I am looking forward to that day for another shopping trip.
Always fun to go there and browse to see what ended up there. The staff are great, if a price is too high or there are similar items with different prices they will work with you.
Great staff, cleaner than before, good book selection, dining ware, and other fun stuff. Good section of men's clothing too.
What a fantastic organization. I usually donate my stuff, versus shop. But sometimes it's been a great place to buy some craft items, and costumes. The people are quite friendly. And the whole concept of reusing and giving people a way to get some experience and start careers, is wonderful.
It's a 2nd hand thrift store but the variety and quality of clothes is great. I always get shirts here, but pants are more difficult for men. For women they have lots of blouses and pants.
The cashiers are usually friendly too.
Terrible experience trying to donate! Won't be donating to DI ever again.
Very poor customer service. I have never had someone pound on my dressing room door and yell at me to leave when they weren't even closed yet. I'm standing there half naked and probably jumped a foot off the ground. I could understand if it was after they closed and I went to the dressing rooms. I ended up just leaving but decided to call and speak to a manager I figured they wouldn't want a male employee pounding on the female dressing room doors but to my surprise when the manager came on he informed me he was the one that did it and apparently just assumed I wouldn't be done by 9. I would have had no issue had a female associate come ask me if I was almost done since they were closing soon.
It seems like every time I drop off items the people who take your items are either in a bad mood and or not careful with the items dropped off! They throw the boxes and when they land you hear the glasses breaking! 8-26-2019 9:30am
Great place to drop things off for donations they have a drive-thru where the people will unload your vehicle if you want them to.
I go there looking for odd things from time to time & started noticing prices have got way out of hand, $5 for a filthy glass vase I could buy new for $8 & use to buy for a buck . I don't mind so much, but for those who truly need help, I hope they realize this soon, Christmas is upon us . I don't want to take my donations somewhere else .
Nice place! But always wash all the clothes that you buy here!
This is the first DI I've ever been to in my entire life and it's awesome! I have found the cutest clothes in all sizes. I'm surprised at how clean it is considering everything is secondhand. Will come back for sure.
Fabulous store, very clean and organized! Great prices
We recently took a used-once, still-in-the-box, PERFECT artificial Christmas tree that cost over $200 three years ago. When we gave it to them, they put it directly in the dumpster. We asked why, and they said "we get too many".
It's almost Christmas. There are people who could have used it. And they throw it away?
And watch them clear out all of the glass and china, throw it in a bin where it breaks....and then put identical items on the shelf. You'd think they could train people to match things up.
Oh yeah, also watch out for dishes that they tape together. They'll put broken ones on the inside, where you can't see them -- and they have a no return policy.
The staff are nice and attentive. The quality of clothes is pretty good too
Made it an hour before closing, while running and taking bus just for my kid to get a chair. Had a coat and some clothes in my cart, went to the back and left my cart by the door . Took 5 mins to find anyone to help me . No one suddenly understood the English language so I took the chair myself. Came out and my cart was missing , employees all over now suddenly. while closing announcements going off every second I'm asking everyone where and who took my stuff. All denied seeing or taking it. Meanwhile I'm covering every inch of store looking for it, and being told they closed already. I was so mad , and let them know I wouldn't go until my things were back where I left them. Pathetic staff, typical Mormon operation ! Being lied to and knowing it was an impatient, ignorant , incompetent, piece of work employee who took our stuff.
Although I found quite a few cute clothing items at an affordable price, the employees at this location is what made me give such a low rating. The cashier barely spoke & had an attitude when she did. While I was trying on clothes, I overheard multiple employees complaining about having to put back the clothes that are on the racks next to the dressing rooms. (a.k.a doing their jobs) It made me feel very uncomfortable & unwelcome, so I put my unwanted clothing items that didn't fit me back on the shelves myself. Shortly after I assume the manager came over the intercom & stated "__________ PLEASE PUT YOUR PHONE UP" Said employee then responded with a dramatic eye roll then continued to check out a customer. I am from the east coast & therefore I am not familiar with the Deseret Industries thrift store, but aside from the products, this was a bad experience. It would be more profitable, widen your demographic & make this an overall wonderful establishment if more attention was put to the face of Deseret Industries, it's employees.
DI is great. Always can find good stuff for cheap. Great thrift location.
You can find home decor and toys in great conditions! Even brand new items and cloths!
Perfect place to find thrift, cheap toys, apliances and antiques. It is a fun place to spend some time.
