My minor son was told by a security officer to exit the building when chased by some Radom person treating to shoot him. He ran in there in fear for his life they told him this is for sick people not for someone running away from someone trying to shoot somebody? I want to know what kind of people are they taking care of people anyway?

This hospital has the worse attention towards the patients and a bad communication with the patient s family. Right now with everything happening with Covid-19 the take advantage, and they won t tell you the truth about your family member that has been admitted there.so disappointed, and such a bad experience.

Doctors are not present here all the time. They hire all part-time doctors. Sometimes they work over the phone.

Because the business is going slow ( not many patients want to go here), They try to keep patients in the hospital as long as possible. ( by making excuses, documents, lab....slow).

I think they would want to change the management before getting any better rates.

I went into West Anaheim Medical Center after returning from a road trip to Arizona to help my friend move his ex-girlfriend back to California On which I got very little sleep but the condition of my arm was such that I opted to go to the doctor in this case West Anaheim medical Center emergency room instead of going home and sleeping in bed I get there I told him them about my arm which is more than double in width At the point of impact which was caused by me tripping in the dark and catching myself on my forearm on the edge of the metal drawer as soon as I told the doctor what was going on and they gave me a bed I fell asleep I woke up 46 hours later a male nurse was asking if I wanted something to eat and I can go home Friday but no information and physically I can see nothing was done I asked what was going on he brings over a doctor they tell me they ve done x-rays on my right hand the lump that has more than doubled the size of my forearm Is on my left Forearm they tell me they x-rayed it because it was some slight Puffiness no x-ray on my left forearm for a cheap fractured or broken bones no test for staff or Mrsa. I asked the doctor for a logical exclamation and I got there because I was sleeping I was not communicating and they assumed that it was in illegal drug injection site I asked her how come they were able to x-ray my right hand and chose to ignore my complaints in the extremely obvious more than double the size of my other forearm swelling and redness On my left forearm her answer was basically that she s a doctor and she doesn t have to explain Herself any other hospital will check out my other arm I asked to speak to the charge nurse after explaining everything to her she asked me if I m sure it s not a drug injection site nowIf it was I would have no issue whatsoever telling them the best way for them to treat me is for them having the most information about what s going on with me and Dr. patient confidentiality protects them going and telling whoever I have zero concern for telling them if it s drugs but in this case it was exactly what I said it was I tripped trying to get to a light switch the night that I was moving out and cut myself on the edge of a drawer it hurt like hell very hard to forget in for these people to one the matter what the injuries from this still treat it properly but I don t feel was done two don t call me a liar this is the way the drug attic s are treated when they go in for medical care these people that are supposed to be providing medical assistance and healing or choosing to pick on the people who are in terrible condition being homeless Going to jail having psychological problems these people are horrible positions already without hospitals abusive behavior condescending attitude and flat out rude and it s like you re wasting your precious time when they could be spending it on something else anything else because this is a choice you made and in this case had absolutely nothing to do with it it was all based on assumption I guarantee you anybody who s ever been addicted to drugs or down on their luck and they go for medical treatment the treatment they usually get is equivalent to being spit on I will personally never go to this hospital again if I could I would give it -5 stars And I m pretty sure anybody give it five stars either works there or friends or family of somebody who works there because you can see what all the other Reviews say Sorry about the run-on sentence and the inaccuracies I m dictating this

Called to find out who I needed to speak to about my needs and was rudely interuppted by the receptionist Melanie who snarkily transferred me to a nurses station I didn't need. Turns out I needed to speak to a case manager on site about a specific issue but the receptionist couldn't be bothered to listen to my need and direct me to where I should have been. Wasted tons of time talking to people who kept transferring my call instead of helping me find a solution to my issue. I'm sure this hospital is understaffed like most in the surrounding countys but I have never had a pleasant experience at this specific hospital or 90% of my encounters with their "highly trained, skilled and courteous staff." This place is a joke on it's best day and an abonmination on it's worst. Last year, they misdiagnosed my son with leukemia in the E.R. here after only seeing him once... didn't explain anything to us, handed us a pamplet... no mention to follow up with his pediatrician, nothing, no questions answered or even amused. Tip, if your ever in an emergency situation... drive the opposite direction to a different hospital, I'm still trying to sort everything out here.

Avoid this place if possible. Staff stuck. They don't even deserve 1 star. Had a friend sent there they thought they had a gun (which they didnt)put them is restraints for 24 hours and took away there phone. Very tight that left marks. Took pictures. Very dirty never clean room, changed sheets or let patient get a shower. The sink in room had no hot water. There was no TV in room.

The very worse hospital. The emergency room staff couldn't care less. They sent me home in a lot of pain and expected me to drive myself to the drug store. Made it difficult to even use a urinal when I needed one. The doctor also did not help my condition! Avoid this place

I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely...

I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank everyone at West Anaheim Medical Center for their kindness and concerns for my mother while she was there for her emergency medical needs for her heart and abdominal conditions.

From ER staff, Pam (RN) and her crew, physician, Dr. Omar O. Fadeel MD, fabulous 2nd floor nursing staffs, Karen T. (RN), Sang L. (RN, Korean), Karen M. (RN), Rosa D. (CNA) and Dept. of Cardiology, Unfortunately I do not recall the name of the doctor that performed the stress test, Shanna (RN, Korean) and Kenneth (RN). Please forgive me if I left anyone out, it was not intentional! Everyone went above and beyond to ensure my mother's comfort and safety. Always asking questions at the end of a conversation, "Is she in any pain now?, Is she comfortable or does she need anything?, Do you or she have any questions?" Yes, I was asked these questions every single time!

I would like to give my special recognitions to all your Korean speaking staffs for their services. I had to be at mother's bedside all day during the visiting hours due to her inability to speak English. But any time I was absent, I found a personal translating for her when I returned. Sang L. and Shanna mentioned above were also very helpful with language barrier but I could TOTALLY feel their concerns for my mother's well being from the tones of their voices and the way they were addressing her when speaking Korean.

In the medical industry, after all your services often they're either forgotten, not recognized or end up as a negative reviews. But I wanted to convey my sincere thank you to everyone at West Anaheim Medical Center and everyone affiliated with my mother's care for their job well done. I hope my sincere thank you will be passed along to your staffs mentioned above, because I feel they don t hear enough THANK YOUs from their patients and their superiors for their good work!

Sincerely,

D

Last week my mom was taken to this hospital by paramedics, which was the closest hospital from my house. I heard bad things and alway had bad feeling about this hospital so I requested to take my mom to another hospital but the paramedics refused. My mom was diagnosed with hypotensive and acute GI bleeding with hgb 6.3.. For an elderly, that blood level was pretty low. Everything was sooooo slow there and hospital was not busy. My mom needed to draw blood for Type and screen for transfusion, which took hours to be done. Instead of help drawing blood, the ER nurses just standing there talking and waiting for phlebotomist to come draw the blood. Requesting blankets and chucks also took forever since nurses just standing there talking. That was considered delay treatment. When the doctor came, she said my mom gonna get some blood transfusion. I also requested to transfer my mom to another hospital but she refused and stated unable to transfer unless nothing can t be done here . I was already unhappy about the services and had bad feelings about the patient care but I couldn t discharge my mom because she was not stable yet. My mom was transferred to tele floor and her blood pressure still not stable. Back to transfusion, my mom was brought to hospital around 7:30pm, she didn t get transfusion until pass midnight and only gave her 1 unit. I was surprised with hgb 6.3, she should get at least 2 units. So after the 1st unit of blood, they need to redraw the blood, which took forever for them to redrawn and the results also took forever. The result showed hgb even lower than the original so redrawn again and another long process.....while waiting my mom became hypotensive, lethargic, and had large stool with blood, transferred to ICU. If my mom get 2 units of blood at the same time, her condition woulda r that bad. Anyway, she didn t get another unit of blood until pass noon in icu. My mom passed away later in the afternoon because vtach and her heart stopped, I was shocked. Before transfer my mom to icu, she was still talking and using bedside commode. Overall, this hospital services were so bad, delay treatments leading to worsening patients conditions and death. My mom won t die, if she was taken to another hospital.

If I could zero stars I would this place doesn't deserve a star, from the reception to the triage nurse to the doctors they were rude the entire time! I have never felt so unwanted and insignificant! The p.a. Anthony Cruz was a complete a**hole who didn't listen to anything that I said didn't even ask me anything other than, "what one thing do u want me to fix"
This place and it's people need to learn some bedside manners and how to treat a person.

This place used to be a great care facility to go too when you needed hospital services. As time progressed though, it's quickly eroded more and more to what could best be described as a joke.

When you come this hospital, don't expect the following:
1. Privacy
2. Customer Care
3. Respect

Poorly trained staff, very low morale. The staff at this hospital is very cold and non approachable. I came in because of an emergency... There was no urgency on their part. The hospital was not busy, but when I arrived the staff did not seem to make eye contact and wanted to ignore me. They made me feel very apprehensive in asking any questions. When I arrived, I asked the receptionist how long the wait would be to be seen, she replied with a heavy sigh, and said " don't know go have a seat." I did not sit in the lobby very long... The lobby was fairly empty and I was called back to a room within probably 30 minutes. After I was in a room I sat there for over 3 1/2 hours with no contact whatsoever. Nobody came in to ask me how I was doing and if everything was OK. I left four hours after being checked in with nobody ever asking me how I was. I got up out of my room and walk straight out the emergency room doors where the ambulances. Not one person made eye contact with me nor asked me any questions as I left. I walked out of that hospital and drove to UCI where I was greeted friendly by a well trained staff. They have my phone number and my emergency contact information numbers. Nobody ever called me to check in or up on me. Bottom line... IF YOU WANT TO DIE THIS IS YOUR BEST CHANCE. (suicide by hospital)

I saw Dao, a social worker, at the nurses station and told him I needed to speak with him. He said he was busy. I took it that he needed a few minutes. I said I would be in the room visiting for when he would be free. He nodded yes. More than an hour went by. I went back to the nurses station to find out what happened to him. I was told he left the hospital, as he does every Friday. He wouldn't be back for s couple of hours. I've had trouble with this social worker before for his lack of communication. I called and reported it to Stan, the Director. Stan was apologetic. But I would like to know what has happened to common courtesy? Dao doesn't have any.

This place doesn't deserve any stars. People that works here are very rude. I work at a home health office, and i verify patients on a daily basis. I called this hospital and spoke to the operator. She gave me an attitude. I just asked if the patient was still in house, but she was like, " i dont know ok, i dont see him here". And i asked her NICELY to transfer me to medical records, and she just transferred me without even making me finish. Then, the people in medical records did the same thing, didn't even let me finish what i was trying to say and just put me on hold. RUDE!

I will definitely come here again and I heard that they changed ownership so it seems they're on the right track. Thanks so much emergency room!

Women behind desk was rude with an obvious anger issue she shouldn t be working in a hospital..She screamed at me for no reason and and closed the window violently. Finially I get called to back wait another 2hrs. And doctor doesn t do nothing. No service at all. This hospital needs to be shut down. Avoid this place staff its crappy and service stinks. There are much better hospitals in Anaheim. Staff doesn t work. Any positive reviews I m sure are written by staff here..

My father ended up passing away in this hospital. ...

My father ended up passing away in this hospital. The dr and nurses in the ccu department are horrible. My father's Dr had no compassion or bedside manner. He informed us my father was brain dead and he kept harassing us to sign a DNR order. After he stepped out of the room one of my family members overheard him telling a nurse that why was my family there wasting our time with my father that he was already brain dead. The only nice person we enountered here was night nurse Edna. She was very compassionate and took very good care of my dad. She covered him with blankets and made sure he was comfortable till the end. As for charge nurse Elizabeth she was so rude. She saw nurse Edna pacing outside my fathers room and she asked her what was wrong. Nurse Edna responded the patient is losing a lot of blood. At this point charge nurse Elizabeth yelled at her don't you know this patient is DNR. She yelled that loud enough that my whole family heard it. It was very cruel. My father's heart stopped and his dr came to declare him legally dead, so he tried turning off the machines he was hooked up to. His medication machines were still beeping and the dr didn't know how to turn it off. He started yelling for the nurses and after no one came he just started pulling the cables out of the wall outlets, but they were still running on the backup battery. They had to come show him how to turn off the machines. After dealing with all of this terrible behavior my family was approached and were told we had 3 hours to transfer my dad to a funeral home because the morgue was full and they had no room for him. This place is unprofessional. Do not let your family come here.

I was sent to this hospital early November 2018 for suicidal ideation and to be evaluated by a doctor, when there were too many patients they had me see an LCSW as I was waiting hours for someone to evaluate me. I was told he was in the business for 20 something years so okay let s talk. Reviewing my med file before-hand along with the police report he came with a summary of what led me to the hospital which was very inaccurate. He immediately said I m putting you on a 5150 (psyche hold) and proceeded in making his points and having to defend the point by point which irked him, I just wanted to have my say of how things actually went. Before I got to finish making my points he flipped my medical file and read the police report, something got lost in translation because the summary he had in his head that was communicated wasn't what was written on the police report. The police report had 1 error granted the LCSW had a bunch of errors. At this point I'm skeptical about his general competency, I don't really know him but I ve become defensive and weary. At the very beginning of the conversation before making my summary he was already going to put me on the 5150 before even making my points and I starting to get agitated that I was going to be in a psych hold and the consequences of that based on inaccuracies and not allowing me to completely finish my points before getting cut off from him like he didn t want to lose power or make him look stupid. He later blames me that I m cutting him off... granted I did a few times but never acknowledges when he does it. I was going to be put on a 5150 based on you not listening to me first as you are taking place of the doctor, he s response is no no I m not a doctor, that is not what I asked you, I know you are not a doctor. I was supposed to see a doctor but because he/she was too busy they sent you so is there anything I say that would help me not be placed in on a hold, well I can t give you a 5150 only a doctor can do that, will you said at the beginning that you could and now you can t and also what is the point of me talking to you if you are not going to listen to me, like listening isn t part of his job. I told him, wow u are terrible at your job, is there someone else to talk to? He came out and said that he doesn t need to take this and gets up to leave. About an hour later he comes in, here are the facts of the situation (basically saying what he has to say isn t debatable) I called 5 VA hospitals and I wasn t able to reach anyone there, I don t know why. I respond that what 5 VA s did u call which he didn t have an answer and also I asked them that I would call them myself using the hospital patient phone to find out, he restricts me from doing that and said that I was going to be using California State Care. I then ask them my mom is coming to visit I m going to use her phone to call the VA to see if you are telling the truth. He responds that he called all the VA s and all the beds are full. I caught his contradiction and he walks away. For a LCSW that walked out during questioning and telling me that he wasn t angry, he obviously using his position to get back at me which is in the anger category but left me with a unnecessary hospital bill because he wanted to hurt me for how I treated him. Never come to this hospital

My experiences here have been good. The staff has always been polite. The waiting room isn't the best but I've been in and out in about 6 hours on both my visits. The waiting sucks but it is an E.R. And there's other people who are being seen. Exams, test, CT scans, getting the results, etc...can take a little bit of time of course.

DON'T COME HERE! Repeat DON'T COME HEREI would rate it a half star. The ER is ghetto, the staff is rude, confrontational, lazy and constantly complain about other staff members rolling their eyes, talking smack to the guests, if you ask a question they get upset storm off..The wait to get into a room in the ER is like 5hrs. There is no management supervision! Why would WAMC hire people who dont want to work? Hire people who are happy to have a job!

Would be a 5 star rating ifff the stories of waiting 4 hrs had been confirmed for ER - likely due to the one at triage and admission. I had been helping many patients going through language barrier so many doctor offices and regional hospitals so it seems to me similar unhappy stories happened here and there. It marred the good image of dedicated and professional health care persons behind the scene.
I escorted patients at 3 am in Jan 2017 and recently 8pm Friday in April - we were seen by excellent doctors in ER at West Anaheim Medical Center
Highly recommended for this area
Unless your need called for a regional hospital or specialty treatment.

I will NEVER go this "hospital" again! I am an LVN and we are considered low on the totem pole in the hierarchy of nurses. However, good bedside manner is Nursing 101!!! I have extreme abdominal pain and I have a very high tolerance for pain...so for me to go to the hospital...means I am in serious pain! The Triage nurse was rude and treated me as though I was a druggie looking to score at the ER. Then she questioned me when I told her that I was at an 8 on the pain scale. She then sent back to the waiting room. Where we waited and waited....
Finally I was called to the ER room and given a gown and a bed. I was assigned to PA, I believe his name was Marcus...this was where things went from bad to worse if that is possible. I was at the hospital until midnight and they literally did NOTHING for my pain. I never asked for any pain medication because they made me feel as though I was lying about the pain. Finally at the end I told them exactly how I felt and I demanded that they DO SOMETHING for the pain. If you are in pain go to another hospital don't waste your time at West Anaheim.

Horrible experience, was forced to get a pregnancy test in order to get admitted for a viral infection. They charged my insurance for the same services twice. Waited more than 5 hours. The place is awful. Very cold and dirty.

I would give it zero stars. I went to the ER in a lot of pain and I have a disability. I had the worst ER visit ever. The staff were mean, unprofessional and uncaring to me. When I urgently needed their attention, they completely ignored me and the receptionist lady was heartless. I waited in the waiting area for hours in pain. They had no sympathy at all and they were hostile to me. I even got reprimanded for falling asleep in the waiting room due to being distress from pain. I ended up going home without any treatment. I never got treated like this in a hospital before. I am never coming back here again.

How is this place still open? Im currently in the waiting room and thus far have over heard a nurse ask another nurse about a full arrest no one called a code for, watch a guy with a broken leg who had been here 3 hours leave because they told him he would have to wait a couple more, and personally been waiting for 4 hours and watched 3 people come in after me go ahead of me.
This is a joke, right? This isnt a real hospital. Am i being punked?

If you find yourself in this ER, pray that Dr. Jennifer Mason isn't in charge of your care. She's treating my daughter like she's some drug addict. I'm ready to sign her out ama, because she's not getting proper treatment

In my honest opinions nowadays the hospital is much better than what it use to be. Yes the wait is still unreal and the receptionist is not that best, however when I was being treated, the nurses took care of my very well. In short i was happy to be treated her.

They didn't gave the treatment/medicine needed all the did was an X Ray and recommended some Robitusin hahahah (like they always do at this kind of Hospitals) at high I ended up with high fever so I had to find another place . when I got to the new place they checked me and say: why didn't they give you the right meds?
I told them the people at the hospital said I was fine.

People at the main entrance seemed to looked confused when asked about where I was supposed to go for a reevaluation after a visit to the ER. She mentioned info about going to a primary doctor and having to make an appointment. Good thing I turned around when she turned me around because all I needed to do was go to the ER portion of the hospital. Doesn't seem that hard to figure out, I clearly am not the first case where a reevaluation was needed. Obviously I go to the ER department, but it took me calling them from their phone to ask myself...terrible direction and customer service.

Went to the ER, during the pandemic. Everyone was professional, courteous, and very helpful. I didn't feel in danger from COVID, and the ER doc was very quick to get me out of there with all the tests i had to do.

One of the worst healthcare facilities known to ma...

One of the worst healthcare facilities known to man. My aunt used to work in a hospital owned by Tenet Healthcare in Northern California back in the 90s which was acquired by Prime Healthcare in 2008 (same owners as this one, I believe West Anaheim was owned by Tenet at one time too). It's absolutely despicable what Dr. Prem Reddy has done to these facilities. He should have his medical license stripped and be put out of business! Too many people rating other Anaheim area hospitals low are probably confusing it for this one. One of the absolute worst. This place needs to be torn down and rebuilt in a new location with a state of the art facility as a non profit under different ownership and management. In the meantime, Anaheim Memorial, Los Alamitos, and St. Jude in Fullerton/Brea are all much better options if you care about the health & well being of your loved ones. I've had too many people near & dear to me killed or almost killed at this facility. What kind of so called hospital will not let you see your own primary care doctor? Absolutely despicable. Only a handful of people were passionate about their jobs here and made an effort to go the extra mile. Other than that, you're better off going elsewhere
