Weinman & Associates Review

I have hired Weinman & Associates for 2 issues over the past 8 years. Daryl Weinman was quick to understand my complex case and guided me through a stressful legal process without adding to the drama the opposition was throwing at me. I would say we prevailed .The result from the court in one case was fair and a big win on many points other attorneys would have lost as they just didn't get it. ( I know because I interviewed many). The second case ended with Mediation. I am not a fan of Mediation or Arbitration. That said, Daryl Weinman guided me through and we prevailed on the critical points but some issues became muddled at the end of a long day of back and forth and if I were to replay that I would have not been rushed to conclude. In both my cases I know the oppositions attorneys were much cheaper based on an hourly rate, but I know the opposition spent many more hours and money on their case. What went on to cause those extra hours on their case I can only speculate. I know I got a better result for much less despite paying a higher hourly rate because my expectations were well managed by my attorney. We didn't waste time and money. I have recommended Weinman & Associates many times before as a result of working with them. I'm sure my ex- wife regrets not having Daryl Weinman as her attorney!

My case was accepted by Mr Philley on 11/17/16 Simple divorce, no children, no real estate, just funds. He did not get real on my case until after this. The delay cost me.

The thing that sticks out to me about Daryl is her perspective about family law. After experiencing her own divorce and the emotional trauma that goes with it, she has worked tirelessly to provide her clients a better option. Although divorce and family law will continue to be difficult, she cares so much about her clients and their emotional journey that it consumes her practice. I had a very strong child custody case I approached Daryl Weinman with and needed help putting it together into a legal format.

"Very strong" were her words. By no means did she guarantee a win, but we were almost certain when we read through police records together.

We had successfully, obtained a temporary restraining order against the child's mother because of her behavior. My son was in my custody. Only the trial to go!

I accomplished the busywork, open records acquisition (collect calls from jail, police records, etc) and overall organization (call transcription, outline of the case) myself. I simply needed help with the witnesses & subpeonas - and her legal experience to present the case before a judge.

At the trial, we had the good guys, two police officers and the bad guys all there as witnesses to take stand on our behalf.

What I did not know - what Daryl Weinman disclosed just before the trial started, was that she would be leaving halfway through to catch a flight to meet her son.

This trial was about custody of MY son.

When she was ready to leave, only half the witnesses had taken the stand, Judge Gus Strauss stated: Ms Weinman, I just do not understand why you would do this to yourselves today. Your leaving early puts a time constraint on this case that didn t have to be.

When the dust settled, and I lost... she stuck me with a $14,000 bill

It doesn't end there - After the ruling, she told me, I was wrong for wanting more, that this was only the beginning and it would be tens of thousands more to win this.

When I asked that she perform some sort of damage recovery, she quit..

The end! That's it! I'm now broke with nothing to show for it. I'm still 50/50 custody and my child is at the mercy of a crazy, gun chasing ex-wife and her crystal meth-head boyfriend and their escapades with my son.

Only in Travis County - and only with Daryl Weinman!

Daryl was great at helping me through a difficult situation that spanned 7 years and ended with my husband being able to adopt my son, whom he had raised since the age of four. Daryl was always fairly quick to address any concerns I had and put my mind at ease. I felt that she genuinely cares about her clients.

Something to think about is, when you hire an Attorney you are hiring the firm.
The Attorney and paralegal that took my divorce to trial in June 2016 were wonderful.
Sadly they have both left the firm.
The decree was not completre prior to their leave.
One day I began receiving emails from someone at Weinman and Associates in response to my emails with no introduction who clearly did not take any time to know my case.
In December 2016 I contacted the Attorney who now held my decree who also did not contact me 1st with any type of introduction.
Once the decree was sent over to me, there were many areas of incorrect information.
This went back and forth many times.
My bill steadily increased and the decree was no closer to being signed.
I have since moved on in order to complete the divorce.
The communication was frustrating and lacked sense to me.
Child support was never pursued.
Divorces are a very difficult and personal issue.
Really look at whatever firm you intend to hire, not just the Attorney.
