Jobs dont show up in the app in real time, as stated. The notification system for jobs is rigged internally, so certain lookers get notified of jobs right away and others get notified after they're already assigned, wasting our time going through a competitive convoluted manual accept/decline process.
If you actually get a look they pay a whopping $20 flat fee, but these 1099 assignments end up paying about 30% minimum wage when your mileage, gas, wear and tear, insurance, equipment cost, time, and taxes are accounted for.
They also deduct an extra $1.50 (per assignment, not per pay period) for electronic payment (reducing the pay before expenses to $18.50) and despite the extra deduction, payment still takes an average of 3 weeks to get deposited, or you can opt for payment by check, which takes longer.
The profit margin for those of us doing the work is insulting when compared to what they're charging the client.
