SCCC is a scam. I had been notified that I had part time financial aid months before the semester started. When the semester starts they take away my aid after I pay money out of pocket for the remanding balance of bill. So I then dropped my schedule because they took my away financial aid. And instead of giving me a refund they send me a bill requiring that I pay more money because I dropped my schedule. I call the Cashiers Office and they weren't helpful in solving this scam and giving me a refund. SCCC is a zero star school. Only gave it one star because Google doesn't let users put zero stars.

Suffolk County Community College is a leading community college filled with smart, dedicated professors and staff. I received an Ivy League education at SCCC. This college is perfect for young students just graduating from highschool, non-traditional students, and veterans. One summer while attending Suffolk Community College I studied at Yale University. I graduated from SCCC in 2014' Theatre Arts-Phi Theta Kappa. The educational values of this community college are very compelling. Get your Start at Suffolk Community College, I did,and the experience changed my life.

Worst College someone could go to. The graduation rate is 17% and there is no campus life no social interactions with students. The goal at Suffolk is to get you to feel so discouraged that you drop out and you waste your money that is how they stay in business. People bring their children to class sometimes too which can be annoying since they should be on the show teen mom. If you're a young man or woman and don't know what to do with your life do fresh out of high school do not go to Suffolk you will be wasting your time and your parent's money and will also be very depressed.

I strongly dislike Grant Campus with a passion! I'm a current student there and I can see why the rating about this campus is terrible. Throughout my journey, the factulty in the financial aid and the Cashier were the worst. Financial aid and the Cashier made my introduction to Suffolk unappealing by me having to stop by mulitiple times to confirm my that the semester is paid off and I also can tell how unknowledgable staff is whenever I had questions regarding my financial aid or anything else I needed assistance with. I believe they're unorganized because i had to go through so much to register for the fall semester. I'm considering about switching to the Ammerman campus or just transferring to a university because this campus has mediocre instrutors with nasty attitudes and you can tell that they're there for a check! Though, all of them are not that bad. There are a few intructors who care about the students success. Everything about them screams mediocre including the students I have to go to class with (though they're not supposed to be included in this rant, im just gonna keep it real). The service is crap! Even the Career Transfer staff makes it so unpleasurable for me to talk to them that I already want to report a few of the workers. I can't wait to finish this semester off and leave this retarded campus for good!

I went here 10 years ago for Electrical Technology. I got one heck of a great education by interacting with other students and the teachers, and was in my best shape because of the additional phys-ed classes that were required. For the money, the education is well worth it. The biggest key to the education, however, is not all in the teachers, but you. You're not being spoon fed here. If you put the effort and positive thinking towards your education, become creative and progressive, you can go far in class and in the work environment with just an associates degree. If you want to whine, then go for it. No good company will want to work with that behavior though.

The school is terrible on every level. The "counselors" DO NOT help in any way. They are more concerned with eating their lunch than helping or even advising in the slightest way. The professors are at the very best, minimal teachers.. I have had maybe 1 professor that I truly enjoyed. Nobody helps you understand paying for college. The financial aid employees are rude. & its impossible to graduate within 2 years if you are not living at home with help from mommy and daddy.

Side note just to put in perspective.. December or 2018 my father was hospitalized and passed away. I maintained an A+ in my English 101 class all semester, I missed the last paper Mrs.Aisha Carter Wilson assigned while I was at the hospital. I emailed her all documentations needed & I managed to do any extra credit. She gave me a D for the semester. I went to the Deans office where I was told they stand behind the professors grade...

I hate this school.

Calling this a clown college would be appropriate but then again most clowns have more intelligence and dignity than the staff of this cesspool. Also it is a scam and that s not an exaggeration. The place is tailored so that you don t graduate on time and get scheduled into classes you don t need by the little minions that are the staff.

Grateful for this place- amazing professors, caring and compassionate advisors, unbelievable president. I had an amazing start at Suffolk. I was able to receive a full-tuition scholarship while attending there. They had many clubs and activities to get involved in. I became a leader and felt truly cared for by the staff. I cant say enough.

The school is a scam more than others. The lack of enforcement of policies around employees allows students to be mistreated, and suffer unnecessary hardships due to lack of effort for its constituents. Additionally, these glaring issues are magnified through the pandemic.

This is the worst experience I ever had. 1st there Financial aid office SUCKS!!!!! I had to make 5 trips there to confirm that I payed the bill for the semester. The grading rubric here is also a lot more stricter and higher then Selden. If you want to go to Suffolk go to the Selden or the Riverhead campus. Now im no longer attending college and working full time. I wanted to get my liberal arts degree butThis CAMPUS SUCKS!!!!!

Infrastructure is not up to date. Payments and requests cannot be taken over the phone or online and they only communicate via physical mail. Highly ineffective way to opporate compared to other more reputable higher education facilities.

Highly do not recommend this for anyone and what are you looking to get out of the classes is never hands on professors think they are just there for their paycheck to ask somebody for help the staff is very rude and I am never ever going back to Suffolk County community college all I felt like they did was take my money and screw me over an highly do not recommend this for and what are you looking to get a "hands on experience " never hands on professors I think they are just there for their paycheck and once you ask somebody for help the staff is very unfriendly and I am never ever going back to Suffolk County community college all I felt like they did was take my money and screw me over in the end. They aren't about us students cause obviously there's too many of us and classes are always over crowed and you never ever get the chance to speak out in class with another 26 students including oneself me. It's like the 13th grade what a joke!!! I absolutely hated this was probably the worst experience I ever had in my education life of 20years. They don't even deserve a star

I dropped school on september 10. Never had the 75% refund. They will just take more and more money by playing with the confusion...in the paper it says clearly that if you drop the classes on 10th you will have 75% refund, but when I asked for the money back , they gave me an other story and bs explications... Worst college ever.

The [layout]of the school looks like a horror movie where Michael Myers is about to pop out the bushes and choke you to death. Some parts are just filled with empty dirty parking lots and abandoned areas where more majors departments could be. The [lack of majors]are sad. The majors they have are a bunch of foolishness. 80% of the people that goes here are students that are planning to transfer. [Financial Aid] I had to pay out of pocket. I paid $380 during registration then $280 a month for just one class. I did nothing in the school. I don t even know what s the $280 is for. [Grading] my teacher said a grade under a 80 is failing. -__- we literally had 30 minutes to take a test that s one two chapters. [Getting In] its a good thing that they allow people to join even after classes already started. I had to withdrawal from their because it s a waste of time and money. It ll take me year to graduate from their due to their grading system.

The financial aid office is the absolute worst. They get an attitude when you come in person to ask for help and expect you to call them instead. However, these people don't even pick up the phone. I swear the moment I figure out how to report this bullsh-t because this is getting old.

Not being rude but, honestly. The Cashier Office is the most awkward place to be in the school as a student mainly because some of the staff that work there are extremely rude and do not care for whatever issue the Student has been facing.
I was there today and i approached the lady and asked about why my Bill was up because i only missed one payment (Not going into details). And she was so non-nonchalant about everything. Seriously i am concerned about my Bill and she could give a rats ass about my problem i just walked away.
The Selden campus on the other hand has much nicer people who are willing to deal with what ever questions/Problems you have and as Student that's pretty disconcerting.

Worst community college experience. Had a priest for an instructor who announced it was impossible to get an A in the class in the first day. Also, YOU CANNOT GET YOUR TRANSCRIPTS! This so-called college makes it nearly impossible to get your transcripts. I even drove down twice and, ooops! They've gone to storage off site. The electronic age has not reached that far out in Suffolk I guess. Avoid this school if at all possible.

Honestly the only thing this school is good for is the fact that everybody here has weed, all of the professors I have had are either next to senile, or have the audacity to be, not only unacceptably uneducated but also repugnantly unmotivated. Professors have told me, the first day of class, that achieving an A was impossible and I had a professor admit teaching himself the material the night before. All faculty and staff I have approached to help fix my abundant and avoidable problems have had me chase my proverbial tail in circles until finally someone tells me the help I'm seeking is impossible or until I get tired enough to quit. I feel this school systematically produces problems that ends in my wallet being empty and my brain void of any new, or valuable information.

I was pleased with the service. They were busy, but had an appropriate amount of staff given the building constraints. Everyone I had contact with was pleasant. 45mins in and out. . .professional operation.

TRASH, DO NOT EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME UNLESS YOU'RE LOW ON COINS!!! THE PEOPLE HIGH UP TREAT YOU LIKE NOTHING AND ACT AS IF YOU'RE BOTHERING THEM IF YOU NEED ANY FORM OF ASSISTANCE. VERY UNFRIENDLY STAFF. WILL NOT RETURN CALLS OR EMAILS. THEIR BEST INTEREST IS NOT THE STUDENT!

Why don 't more people realize that you can do your first two years of college at Suffolk Community College, transfer most to all of the credits and save yourself 10-30 thousand dollars in the process. Every year students from Suffolk successfully transfer to the best colleges in the nation such as Cornell, Columbia and NYU. They also offer viable two year degree programs such as Paralegal Studies, Nursing, Business Administration, Early Childhood Education and Culinary Arts.

My son attended Suffolk and loved the classes and professors; he went on to transfer to a very competitive school and they accepted all of his credits. The classes at Suffolk have only 15-30 students, so you get much more individual attention from the professors--they actually know your name.

I wish that more high school guidance counselors knew the advantages of going to Suffolk instead of pitching high-priced private and out of state public schools.

Great school if you put the effort in. Some of the smartest professors around in the IT and Engineering departments. The quality of the labs are right up there with top schools and for not even a quarter of the cost... Great start for education for anyone willing to learn. This is the place to start.

Grant campus is beautiful and had every amenity I wanted. All my instructors were very caring and understanding. I love the location, the atmosphere, the cafeteria, the range of programs, the student services, the teachers, everything. I'm very, very happy that I chose this school.

There is a plethora of issues with this school 1 the smoking ban on campus which a majority of college students smoke it can t be prevented 2 the Bee issue I ve been there for 3 semesters and I ve been stung by bees countless times all cause they can t get rid of the bees nest 3 the prices for food and 4 this one really gets me (they took away my girlfriends financial aid over one bad grade and she went to the hearing and everything they gave her tap back but they expected her to pay 700$ the same day when the semester doesn t start for another 2 weeks... first off she doesn t have good credit and comes from a Lower middle class family with financial issues where is she gunna get the money to pay that in a day something needs to change with this school as many petitions as we put through none of them have gone through

I spent three years at Suffolk before I transferred to Stony Brook University. I must say, Suffolk was a great school They have a wide variety of programs geared towards student success. If anybody says it's the thirteenth grade, they obviously dropped out because they couldn't handle the work. It's college, not high school. If you show optimism, you'll do well!

My experience with this college has been bad. First of all it was very hard to enroll simply because of incompetence of people working there. I was sent from one room to another multiple times. When I was getting where I was told to go they would tell me to go back where I came from. It was obvious people working there didn't know what to do.
In the MIDDLE OF A SEMESTER OR EVEN PAST THE MIDDLE I was removed from class by a professor saying that she was informed that I didnt submit one paper upon enrollment. I submitted and signed all the papers they asked me for and was admitted to start my semester. It turned out I didnt sign some medical paper which they never gave me. It was a quick fix but still another proof of how messy they are.
As far as the quality of education I received during my classes I felt like what they charged per semester is way too much for what they offer.

Horrible community college. Transferred here after a semester at Oneonta and the staff is completely incompetent. They will send you running around to a million different people when you have a question because no one knows how to help you. They also take FOREVER to send out your transcripts when you are ready to move on to another school. My high school and previous college were able to send out my transcripts in a matter of days while I am still waiting on my transcript from Suffolk to arrive in the mail after being told it was sent to me almost a week ago. They also only deal with transcripts at the Seldon campus, so unlike any normal college that could give you your transcript right away you have to go all the way to another campus in order to get your transcript and send it out yourself because they take so long to get anything done. Would not even recommend this community college to my worst enemy.

I sent 5 kids through this poor excuse of a college ,the advisors are snake oil salesmen and the teachers and proffessors couldnt put any effort at all into teaching ..they are the worst of the worst
Now 10 days before the new semester, they cancel a entire corse( hvac ) ..oh and the mandTory $100 food plan is a big kick back ,corruption by ammatures..this school sucks ..i cant emphasize that enough

God forbid you call & ask a simple question. They messed up my 1098-T form and were rude about it. For the money you pay, which is little to nothing you get an OK education. I cannot wait to transfer out of here.
