Safest place, they really protect privacy of clients. They have a procedure for gaining housing which can be difficult to do with each situation.. yet I'm still extremely continuously surprised and entirely admirable at their ability to retain after assistance even.. the protection of privacy and time spent there. Thank you.

Roz, the "boss," is absolutely amazing. She is caring and protective of the people who come in, especially the women in the Madge Phillips shelter. Roz just wants to see people get back on their feet, get their own home, get a job of they're able to do so, and get to a point where they can manage their life with minimal assistance. As long as you're looking for a place to live, generally getting along with others, and following the rules, she'll be your biggest fan. However, she doesn't put up with anyone abusing anyone else. The same week my late wife & I entered the shelter, someone who we'd heard slap and cuss out their child in the room next door was kicked out. That's when we knew we were *safe* there. I love Roz, and I go back every month or two just to say hi, tell her how I'm doing, and get my Roz hug. She's amazing, and I'm forever grateful for her.

They helped me out in so many ways by giving me up with a gas voucher to get to Waverly and by setting me up with shelter in Cedar Rapids while fleeing from a Domestic Assault relationship. I attended the Exhale Project that Sofie a Domestic Violence Advocates for the group discussions.
Love it!

About Waypoint Services

Waypoint Services is a non-profit organization that has been serving the Cedar Rapids area and surrounding communities for many years. The organization offers a range of services to help those in need, including Homeless & Housing Services, Domestic Violence Victim Services, and child care.

One of the primary goals of Waypoint Services is to provide support and assistance to individuals who are experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of becoming homeless. The organization offers a variety of programs designed to help people find safe and stable housing, including emergency shelter services, transitional housing programs, and permanent supportive housing options.

In addition to its work with homeless individuals and families, Waypoint Services also provides critical support for victims of domestic violence. The organization operates a 24-hour crisis hotline that provides immediate assistance to those in need. Additionally, Waypoint Services offers counseling services for survivors of domestic violence as well as legal advocacy services designed to help victims navigate the complex legal system.

Another important aspect of Waypoint Services' work is its child care program. The organization operates several child care centers throughout the Cedar Rapids area that provide high-quality early childhood education and care for children from birth through age five. These centers offer a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn and grow while their parents work or attend school.

Overall, Waypoint Services plays an essential role in supporting some of the most vulnerable members of our community. Through its various programs and services, the organization helps individuals overcome difficult challenges such as homelessness or domestic violence while providing critical resources like child care that enable families to thrive.
